Shimmering Frost-White Mica Pigment for Decorative Cosmetics and Craft Projects
Cosmetic Mica Snowflake 100 g is a finely milled mineral pigment made from natural mica coated with metal oxides, producing a soft silvery-white glow with a delicate icy sparkle reminiscent of fresh snowfall. A 100 g pack suits studio-scale work rather than a single trial batch — think small cosmetic brands, candle makers, resin artisans or soap workshops that need a reliable, repeatable supply of shimmer for ongoing production. The pigment belongs to the broader Mica Powders range, which brings together dozens of shades and finishes for different manufacturing directions.
Globally, mica pigments are most in demand within decorative cosmetics — eyeshadows, highlighters, bronzers, lip products and nail lacquers. Snowflake is particularly popular for winter makeup collections, frosty highlighter looks and cold, icy stage or festival makeup. Beyond cosmetics, mica is a staple ingredient in epoxy resin craft, giving coasters, jewelry and decorative panels a shimmering depth without clouding the resin's clarity. It is equally common in decorative candle making, bath bombs, polymer clay and household chemistry items such as liquid soap, shower gels and body scrubs. On an industrial scale, mica-based pigments are used in paints and coatings, automotive finishes and packaging print, wherever a durable pearlescent surface is required.
Mica blends well with other pearlescent and mica-based pigments, making it easy to build gradients and layered effects. It pairs nicely with the warmer glow of Mica Moon Light 5 g for a moonlit undertone, can be combined with accent pops of Mica Covapearl Pure Carmine 3 g in multi-shade palettes, or mixed with Sky Blue Mica 3 g to build a frosty winter-sky transition.
Recommended dosage depends on the finished product: pressed eyeshadows and highlighters can rely on the pigment as a major part of the pressed mass, creams and lotions typically need 0.5-3 grams per 100 grams of base, candles work well with 1-2 grams per kilogram of wax, and epoxy resin usually takes 1-5 grams per 100 milliliters depending on the desired shimmer intensity. Mica should be added at the final stage, once the base has cooled below 70 degrees Celsius, to prevent heat damage to the pearlescent coating. Before mixing into liquid formulas, it helps to first disperse the pigment in a small amount of oil, glycerin or alcohol to avoid clumping and ensure even distribution. Store the pigment in a tightly sealed container, away from direct sunlight and humidity, to keep its shimmer and flow properties stable over time.
Frosted shimmer resin coasters
Epoxy resin 80 ml
Hardener 40 ml
Cosmetic Mica Snowflake 3 g
Isopropyl alcohol 5 ml
Mix
the epoxy resin with the hardener slowly and thoroughly for at least three minutes
to avoid trapping air bubbles. Sprinkle in the mica and stir gently until the
shimmer is evenly distributed throughout the mixture. Pour the blend into a
silicone coaster mold, then lightly spray the surface with isopropyl alcohol to
pop any remaining bubbles. Leave the mold undisturbed at room temperature for
at least 24 hours to cure before carefully releasing the finished coaster.
