Bringing Stable Red Shimmer to High-Volume Color Manufacturing
Mica Carmine Red supplied in a 1 kg pack belongs to the Mica Powders category, which brings together mineral shimmer pigments designed for coloring cosmetic formulations at industrial scale. This deep carmine red with a strong pearlescent shine is primarily used in color cosmetics manufacturing, including eyeshadows, blushes, lipsticks, lip glosses and nail lacquers, where batch-to-batch color consistency matters most for continuous production lines.
Beyond decorative cosmetics, this pigment is widely applied in bath bomb and bath salt production, candle coloring, epoxy resin art and decorative casting, as well as household chemical products where a light-fast, stable color is required. Mica does not fade under UV exposure and keeps its tone intact even after long shelf storage of finished goods, which makes it practical for product lines with extended retail cycles. In some smaller-scale recipes this pigment is also used to color soap bases, though that remains just one among many possible uses.
Typical dosage in industrial formulations ranges from 0.5 to 3 percent of total product weight for cream-based textures, and up to 5 percent for highly pigmented decorative items such as lipsticks and eyeliners. The pigment is usually introduced during the cooling stage of an emulsion, generally below 60-70 degrees Celsius, to prevent clumping and to achieve even color dispersion throughout the batch. In wax-based compositions, mica tolerates higher melting temperatures of up to 80-85 degrees, allowing direct addition into melted wax without any loss of hue.
This red pigment blends smoothly with titanium dioxide to create lighter, pastel red tones, and pairs well with other micas and dry pigments for building gradient or multichrome effects. For warmer undertones, it works nicely alongside Tibetian Ocher Mica, while softer pink and coral transitions can be achieved using the ready-made Mica mix Pink Candy pigment. When developing multicolor eyeshadow palettes or contrasting gradients, manufacturers often combine this red shade with the Blues mica pigment blend, producing striking transitions across the warm-to-cool spectrum.
The 1 kg pack is intended for studio and industrial-scale production, where consistent shade performance across large raw material volumes and predictable behavior in automated dosing equipment are essential. Store the pigment in a tightly sealed container, in a dry area away from direct sunlight and moisture, to prevent caking and preserve powder flowability during long-term warehouse storage.
Large-Batch Shimmer Candle Blend
Soy wax 4500 g
Coconut wax 500 g
Mica Carmine Red 18 g
Fragrance oil berry blend 70 g
Cotton wicks 120 pcs
Melt
the soy and coconut wax together in a double boiler at around 75-80 degrees
Celsius until fully liquid, then remove from heat and let it cool slightly to
about 65-68 degrees. Gradually sift in the mica while stirring continuously
until the powder is fully dispersed with no visible clumps, then add the
fragrance oil and mix once more. Pour the finished blend into prepared
containers with centered wicks and allow the candles to cure undisturbed at
room temperature for at least twenty four hours before trimming the wicks.
