LipaProtease enzyme complex as a functional ingredient for cosmetic and industrial formulations
LipaProtease is an enzymatic complex combining lipase and protease stabilized with Maltodextrin and Silica. The ingredient is produced via fermentation using Lactobacillus plantarum, ensuring high biocompatibility and process stability across different formulation systems. This type of functional raw material is widely used in modern formulation design where controlled interaction of components and stability are critical.
In formulation systems, LipaProtease demonstrates activity primarily in aqueous phases, enabling selective interaction with protein and lipid structures. This makes it suitable for formulations focused on controlled surface renewal and texture optimization.
Properties and functional role
LipaProtease acts as a combined enzymatic system delivering both proteolytic and lipolytic activity. Within formulations it facilitates controlled breakdown of organic residues while maintaining structural integrity of the system. This enhances ingredient distribution and improves overall product performance.
The ingredient remains stable in a pH range of 4.5–7.5, ensuring compatibility with most cosmetic and cleansing systems. Silica serves as a stabilizing carrier preventing particle aggregation and supporting uniform dispersion.
Properties and result
In finished products LipaProtease improves texture uniformity and enhances formulation stability. It contributes to better interaction between phases and supports even distribution of active components.
Functionally, the ingredient enhances cleansing efficiency and enables controlled renewal effects without disrupting the formulation balance.
Purpose
LipaProtease is used as a functional enzymatic ingredient in formulations designed for renewal, cleansing, and system stabilization. It is suitable for both leave-on and rinse-off products.
In industrial applications, it can be used in biotechnological processes and formulations targeting organic residue processing.
Application
In cosmetics, LipaProtease is incorporated into creams, serums, cleansers, and masks. In SPA applications, it is used in professional treatments preparing the surface for active formulations.
In nutraceutical and food processing sectors, enzyme complexes of this type may be used in processing systems when compliant with regulatory standards. In household and industrial cleaning, it supports effective removal of organic residues.
In contract manufacturing, it is valued as a versatile ingredient adaptable to multiple formulation concepts.
Recipe
Enzymatic cleansing emulsion
Ingredients:
Deionized water — 68 ml
Glycerin — 5 g
LipaProtease — 2 g
Xanthan gum — 0.3 g
Cetearyl Alcohol — 3 g
Glyceryl Stearate — 4 g
Jojoba oil — 8 ml
D-Panthenol — 1 g
Phenoxyethanol — 0.8 g
Lactic acid — 0.5 ml
Technology
The water phase is heated to 70°C and glycerin is added followed by dispersion of xanthan gum until full hydration. The oil phase is heated separately to the same temperature. Both phases are combined and homogenized until a stable emulsion is formed. During cooling to 40°C, LipaProtease, D-Panthenol and preservative are added. Final pH is adjusted to 5.2–5.5.
Instruction
Ensure correct temperature control when adding the enzyme complex to preserve activity. Avoid excessive shear that can introduce air into the system. After production, allow the formulation to stabilize and verify pH and viscosity before packaging.
Manufacturing stability
LipaProtease demonstrates high stability when incorporated under controlled processing conditions. During industrial scale production, maintaining consistent mixing parameters and phase integration is essential.
The ingredient is compatible with a wide range of emulsifiers and thickeners, enabling stable and reproducible manufacturing outcomes across different product categories.
