Red Oil Soluble Liquid Colorant 10 ml

Getting a deep red tone in wax and oil-based formulations

This liquid oil soluble dye delivers a rich red shade specifically for products built on fats, waxes, and oils rather than water-based systems. The 10 ml bottle is a practical choice for home-scale production, small trial batches, and fine-tuning the exact shade before scaling up to larger volumes. The product belongs to the Oil soluble liquid dyes category, which brings together coloring solutions for candles, cosmetics, and oil-based confectionery items.

The candle making industry remains the largest global consumer of oil soluble dyes, since these colorants disperse evenly through melted wax without streaking or settling at the bottom of the mold. Beyond candles, the red dye is widely used in decorative cosmetics for lipsticks, lip balms, solid perfumes, and oil serums, where color stability within a fatty matrix matters most. Confectioners rely on similar dyes to tint chocolate, cocoa butter, and glazes because the colorant blends cleanly with plant-based fats. Household chemical manufacturers also use this type of dye for coloring wax polishes and paraffin-based blends.

For best results, add the dye while the base is melted at a temperature between 60 and 80 degrees Celsius, stirring thoroughly until it dissolves completely and no streaks remain. A typical dosage ranges from 0.1 to 1 gram per 100 grams of base, so it is advisable to start with a small amount and gradually increase until the desired intensity is reached. Since the dye does not dissolve in water, it should be pre-dispersed in the oil phase before combining with any aqueous components of a formulation.

Red pairs well with other shades from the same line for custom color mixing. Combining it with Blue Oil Soluble Liquid Colorant 10 ml produces burgundy and violet tones, while blending it with Raspberry Oil Soluble Liquid Colorant 10 ml gives cooler pink-red hues suitable for cosmetics and confectionery alike. For layered or contrast designs, this red works nicely alongside Green Oil Soluble Liquid Colorant 10 ml.

Store the dye in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight, which can affect color stability over extended storage periods. Once opened, it is best to use the product within the recommended shelf life and prevent any moisture from entering the bottle.
