Lavender Dry Extract botanical powder for aqueous formulations and multifunctional systems
Lavender Dry Extract is a plant-derived powder obtained from lavender flowers with preservation of water-dispersible compounds. This format ensures storage stability, ease of handling and accurate dosing in formulation processes. It is widely used in cosmetic products, SPA formulations, nutraceutical bases, food-related systems and aqueous industrial applications where uniform distribution of botanical materials is required.
From a formulation perspective, the extract behaves as a hydrophilic ingredient that becomes active upon dissolution in the water phase. It does not affect viscosity or structural properties but contributes to the functional composition of the formulation. The powdered format allows precise control over concentration and supports reproducible results in production.
In cosmetic applications, Lavender Dry Extract is incorporated into toners, serums, gel systems, emulsions and hair care products. In scalp-focused formulations, it is used in water-based solutions and light emulsions. In SPA applications, it is applied in liquid treatment bases and active compositions. In food-related and adjacent technologies, similar extracts are used in liquid systems requiring even dispersion of plant-derived components. In industrial processes, it is applied in aqueous mixtures where stability and uniformity are essential.
Functionally, the extract dissolves in water to form a uniform phase that supports the integration of additional ingredients. It is compatible with polyols, hydrosols, organic salts and water-soluble compounds. Proper dispersion ensures even distribution and prevents aggregation.
In formulation practice, the extract is pre-dissolved in a portion of water or a compatible solvent before being introduced into the main system. It integrates well with glycerin, propanediol, sorbitol, hydrosols and preservation systems designed for water-based formulations. Controlled mixing ensures stability and homogeneity.
Usage levels are determined according to formulation requirements and target concentration.
Example formulation: Aqueous system with lavender extract
Purified water 74 ml
Lavender Dry Extract 2 g
Glycerin 5 g
Lavender hydrosol 10 ml
Panthenol 3 g
Betaine 3 g
Preservative 1 g
pH adjuster 2 g
Process: the extract is pre-dissolved in part of the water until fully dispersed. In a separate vessel, glycerin is mixed with the remaining water. Lavender hydrosol, panthenol and betaine are added. The extract solution is incorporated, followed by preservative and pH adjustment. The formulation is mixed until homogeneous.
Example formulation: Gel system with botanical component
Purified water 67 ml
Carbomer 0.8 g
Propanediol 5 g
Lavender Dry Extract 2 g
Allantoin 2 g
Chamomile extract 10 ml
Preservative 1 g
Neutralizer 11 g
Process: carbomer is dispersed in water and allowed to hydrate. Propanediol is added and the system is neutralized to form a gel. The extract is pre-dissolved and incorporated into the formulation. Allantoin and chamomile extract are added, followed by preservative. The system is mixed until uniform.
Lavender Dry Extract is used in formulations requiring stable integration of botanical components into aqueous systems. It ensures uniform distribution, compatibility with various ingredients and consistent performance across cosmetic, SPA and industrial applications.
