Product Description
Hydrogenated Lecithin hydrogenated phospholipid structuring ingredient for cosmetic emulsions
Hydrogenated Lecithin is a stabilized form of plant derived lecithin produced through hydrogenation of phospholipid chains. This process improves oxidative resistance and increases formulation stability in emulsions. The material appears as white to light cream flakes or granules with neutral odor. Its amphiphilic structure enables interaction with both aqueous and lipid phases. In aqueous environments it forms dispersions and lamellar structures that contribute to stable emulsions and uniform lipid distribution.
Properties and skin performance
In cosmetic systems Hydrogenated Lecithin supports lamellar structures that create smooth and uniform textures. Emulsions remain stable and visually consistent. When applied to the skin the formulation spreads evenly and leaves a soft silky finish without heavy sensation.
Industry applications
Hydrogenated Lecithin is widely used in creams, emulsions, serums, lotions and gel systems designed for skin care and hair care products. It is incorporated into lamellar emulsions, phospholipid complexes and delivery systems for active ingredients. The ingredient is suitable for SPA formulations, professional skincare lines and advanced cosmetic product development. Stable performance makes it appropriate for private label and contract manufacturing.
Formula example
Hydrogenated Lecithin 8 g
Caprylic triglycerides 50 ml
Rice bran oil 45 ml
Macadamia oil 40 ml
Cetyl alcohol 20 g
Purified water 800 ml
Propanediol 50 g
Preservative system 2 g
Cetyl alcohol is blended with the oils and caprylic triglycerides and heated until a homogeneous oil phase forms. Hydrogenated Lecithin is incorporated into the lipid phase and mixed until evenly dispersed. In a separate vessel purified water and propanediol are combined to prepare the aqueous phase. Both phases are blended under intensive mixing to form a stable emulsion. After cooling the preservative system is introduced and mixing continues until uniform. The pH is adjusted to a balanced level suitable for emulsion stability. The final product is a smooth lamellar cream with stable texture.
Hydrogenated Lecithin is designed for B2B cosmetic manufacturers developing phospholipid based and lamellar emulsion systems. It supports formulation stability, compatibility with industrial processing and reproducible performance in scalable production.
