A Cooling Base for Tonics and Refreshing Skincare Formulas
Cucumber hydrosol is obtained through steam distillation of fresh cucumber flesh, which preserves the plant's light volatile compounds in water without alcohol or synthetic fragrance. This product belongs to the wider catalog of Hydrosols and Floral Waters, and the 1 L packaging makes it a practical choice for studio and small-batch production runs where a steady supply is needed rather than occasional small purchases.
The primary use of cucumber hydrosol is in skincare: facial mists, toners, the water phase of creams and emulsions, after-sun gels, and soothing masks. Formulators value it for its light feel and immediate cooling effect, which makes it popular in summer lines, office-friendly products, and formulas for tired or sensitive skin, including eye-area treatments. Beyond skincare, cucumber hydrosol is widely used in the food and beverage industry, added to lemonades, cocktails, desserts and culinary sprays as a natural flavoring, and in household products for gentle textile and air fresheners without a harsh scent.
In formulations, cucumber hydrosol typically makes up the water phase and is added when combining aqueous ingredients at a temperature not exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, to protect its volatile compounds. In toners and mists it can be used at nearly full concentration, while in creams and emulsions the water phase dosage usually ranges between 10 and 40 percent of the total batch, depending on the recipe. It pairs well with other botanical waters: a small addition of Orange Hydrosol 50 ml brings a brighter, more energizing note to a blend, while Jasmine Hydrosol 50 ml adds depth to perfumery and skincare compositions. For scalp and hair care formulas, cucumber hydrosol is often combined with Birch Hydrosol 50 ml in refreshing scalp sprays.
Since this is a water-based rather than alcohol-based product, shelf life in preservative-free formulas is limited, and once opened it should be stored refrigerated at 4 to 10 degrees Celsius and used within the period indicated on the label. For workshop and production-line use, the 1 L bottle allows manufacturers to plan batches without frequently reordering small containers, which helps maintain a consistent production schedule.
