A biotech polysaccharide that keeps skin hydrated and calm
Fucogel belongs to the Moisturizing actives category and is a water-based solution of a polysaccharide produced through biotechnological fermentation from fucose. This ingredient is widely used in dermocosmetics for sensitive, dehydrated skin prone to redness, as well as in daily face and body care, after-shave and after-sun products, and baby care lines. Global demand for such polysaccharide complexes remains strong specifically in the professional and pharmacy cosmetics segment, where a gentle yet effective formula matters most.
The key feature of Fucogel is its ability to form a thin film on the skin surface that slows down moisture evaporation while creating a reservoir for prolonged hydration of deeper epidermal layers. Because of this, formulators often choose it for products addressing tightness, flaking and microcracks, as well as for reducing skin reactivity to external irritants. Its soothing action makes it a convenient partner for products intended for skin recovery after aggressive treatments, peels or extended sun exposure.
Fucogel pairs well with other moisturizing and restorative ingredients. Combined with Hyaluronic acid liquid 1% 10 ml, it enhances water retention on different skin levels: hyaluronic acid draws in moisture, while the polysaccharide keeps it locked near the surface. For larger batches, the Hyaluronic acid liquid 1% 100 ml makes it easier to keep proportions consistent when scaling recipes. Fucogel also performs well alongside Cannabiot 5 ml, which adds a calming and balancing component for redness-prone and reactive skin.
Fucogel should be added to the cold or slightly warmed water phase at the final stage of emulsion preparation, at a temperature no higher than 40 degrees, to avoid breaking down the polysaccharide structure. The typical working dosage ranges from 1 to 5 percent of the total formula weight, depending on the desired texture and level of hydration. Store the ingredient in a tightly closed container, in a cool place away from direct sunlight, avoiding temperature fluctuations.
The 100 ml packaging is convenient for studio and small-batch production: this volume is enough to test several face and body care formulas before moving on to steady, repeatable production without risking spoilage of a larger stock during storage.
Calming hydration gel for reactive skin
Distilled water 80 g
Fucogel 4 g
Hyaluronic acid liquid 1% 6 g
Glycerin 4 g
Allantoin 2 g
Broad spectrum preservative 1 g
Fragrance or essential oil 3 g
Dissolve glycerin and allantoin in the main portion of water, stirring until fully combined. Add Fucogel gradually in small amounts while stirring continuously to prevent clumping. Once the mixture becomes smooth, blend in the hyaluronic acid and preservative, mixing until fully dissolved. Finish by adding the fragrance or essential oil, then transfer the finished gel into a clean pump bottle and let it rest at room temperature for several hours to stabilize its texture before use.
