Why neon pigment particles create such a strong glow effect in formulas
Fluorescent neon Green Glitter belongs to the category of Fluorescent glitters, a segment driven mainly by decorative cosmetics manufacturers, body care brands, and the entertainment industry - festival makeup, body art, party accessories and glow-in-the-dark themed products under UV light. The particles show a vivid green tone under regular lighting and a distinct glow under ultraviolet exposure, which is why they are widely used in nail gels, eyeshadows, body highlighters, as well as in adjacent industries such as resin crafting, slime making, decorative candles and glow-effect household items.
In cosmetic formulations the glitter is added at the final stage, once the base has cooled below forty five degrees Celsius - this applies to creams, gels, balms and wax based products. Excessive heat can affect the particle coating and reduce the intensity of the fluorescent effect, so overheating should be avoided. Typical dosage ranges from half a percent to five percent of the total formula weight, depending on the desired glitter density. For even dispersion in water based and water-oil systems, emulsifiers work well: Emulsifier PEG 100 1 kg keeps glitter particles suspended in gel and lotion formulas, while Emulsifier Varisoft EQ 65, 500 g is often chosen for conditioners and hair masks containing decorative particles, providing both particle fixation and a soft finish. When a recipe relies on an oil phase or natural plant based components, Lecithin 1 L improves compatibility between the pigment and the lipid environment, reducing the chance of settling.
Beyond skin care and decorative cosmetics, green neon glitter is in demand for glowing acrylic and polymer objects, resin jewelry, packaging elements and printed materials with a light effect. In the niche segment of home soap making, such particles are sometimes added to a clear base for a decorative layer, but this remains just one of many applications rather than the primary purpose of the material. The glitter is stable at room temperature, resistant to moderate mechanical stress and requires no pre treatment before being introduced into a formula - thorough mixing is enough to achieve even distribution.
Store the glitter in a dry place, in a tightly sealed container, away from direct sunlight and heat sources, since prolonged ultraviolet exposure gradually reduces the brightness of the fluorescent effect. The 50 gram size is convenient for home projects, testing new formulas and small trial batches, allowing you to evaluate pigment behavior in a specific base before scaling up to larger production volumes.
Neon Green UV-Reactive Slime
Clear PVA glue 100 g
Warm water 20 ml
Liquid glycerin 5 ml
Borax solution 10 ml
Fluorescent neon Green Glitter 3 g
Pour the clear glue into a mixing bowl and stir in the warm water and glycerin until the mixture becomes smooth and slightly thinner. Sprinkle in the glitter and mix thoroughly until the particles are evenly spread throughout the base. Slowly add the borax solution while stirring continuously, until the mixture starts pulling away from the sides of the bowl and forms a stretchy consistency. Knead the slime by hand for a minute until it becomes smooth and glossy, then store it in a closed container between uses.
