Eye Contour Complex botanical multi extract for eye area care and lightweight gel formulations
Eye Contour Complex is a water soluble blend of botanical extracts developed for use in lightweight cosmetic products designed for the eye contour area. INCI Equisetum Arvense Extract Hamamelis Virginiana Leaf Extract Glycyrrhiza Glabra Root Extract Panax Ginseng Root Extract Ginkgo Biloba Extract. The ingredient combines multiple plant sources into a single system which simplifies formulation design and supports uniform distribution of actives.
What it is and where it is used
Eye Contour Complex is used in formulations where a light texture and fast absorption are required without adding heaviness. Typical applications include gels serums creams and roll on products for the under eye area.
It is applied in formulations where several botanical extracts need to be incorporated simultaneously without increasing the number of separate ingredients. This allows the development of balanced systems with improved formulation efficiency and stability.
How it works
Eye Contour Complex disperses in the aqueous phase forming a uniform system due to the solubility of its components. Bioactive compounds interact with the skin surface creating an even distribution layer.
The combination of extracts provides a coordinated effect at the surface level improving product spreadability and formulation consistency. The mechanism is based on a water soluble matrix without forming dense films.
Properties
Eye Contour Complex offers strong compatibility with water based and gel systems. It provides a light texture and improves product distribution.
The blend remains stable within the typical pH range of cosmetic formulations and integrates easily into different system types. It reduces the need for multiple separate plant extracts in a formula.
Applications across industries
In cosmetics it is used in gels serums creams and roll on products for the eye contour area. In skin care it is applied in lightweight fast absorbing formulations.
In professional cosmetic development it is used as a ready to use botanical complex. In spa applications it is included in light gel and emulsion systems for delicate areas.
Behavior in formulation
Eye Contour Complex is fully water soluble and is incorporated into the aqueous phase. It does not interfere with emulsification but improves overall system uniformity.
It is compatible with polymer thickeners humectants and water soluble actives. It performs best in clear gels and light emulsions.
How to use
The ingredient is added during the cooling phase or at room temperature. Heating is not recommended in order to preserve the properties of the botanical extracts.
Gentle mixing is recommended to ensure even distribution without disrupting the system structure.
Recommended usage level
Typical usage ranges from 1 percent to 5 percent depending on formulation design and target concentration.
Formulation example
Refreshing eye contour gel
Purified Water — 830 ml
Glycerin — 35 ml
Hydroxyethylcellulose — 5 g
Eye Contour Complex — 35 ml
Panthenol — 10 ml
Caffeine — 5 g
Allantoin — 3 g
Phenoxyethanol Ethylhexylglycerin — 5 ml
Soft Herbal Fragrance Oil — 2 ml
Processing
Glycerin is first mixed with water followed by dispersion of Hydroxyethylcellulose to form a gel structure. After full hydration Eye Contour Complex is added and mixed until uniform.
Panthenol Caffeine and Allantoin are then incorporated followed by Phenoxyethanol Ethylhexylglycerin and Soft Herbal Fragrance Oil. The system is mixed until fully homogeneous.
Important considerations
Eye Contour Complex is a supportive active blend and not a standalone formulation base therefore it requires a properly structured system.
To maintain performance it should be added at low temperature. It performs best in water based and gel systems designed for lightweight textures and fast absorption.
