Product Description
What makes Covalip 94 WP a reliable base for lip stick formulas
Covalip 94 WP belongs to the category of Components for lipstick, balm, lip gloss, and it is one of the first ingredients formulators reach for when a stick product needs to hold its shape without becoming brittle or greasy. This is a structuring polymer base that binds the oil phase, delivers smooth glide across the lips and keeps the stick stable across a range of storage and shipping temperatures. Compared to classic waxes alone, this base creates a smoother finish and reduces the risk of sweating or layer separation in the finished product.
The primary field of use is the cosmetic industry, specifically the manufacture of lip balms, stick lipsticks, tinted balms and solid lip glosses. The 1 kg package size suits studio-scale and small-batch manufacturing well: it is enough for several test runs, formula adjustments before scaling up, and steady repeat orders for smaller cosmetic brands that need consistent supply without committing to bulk drums. The base pairs well with plant oils such as shea, jojoba and castor, with beeswax and plant-derived waxes, with silicones, and with various functional additives. For a mild sweet note in the final product, formulators often add Natural sweetener 1 kg or its smaller counterpart Natural sweetener 5 g for sample batches. For care-oriented lines focused on lip plumpness and firmness, IDEALIFT 5 g is a common addition.
A typical dosage for this base in stick formulations ranges from 10 to 25 percent of total mass, depending on the desired hardness and melting point of the finished item. It is introduced during the oil phase: the component is melted together with oils and waxes at 75-85 degrees Celsius until fully homogeneous, then the mass is cooled slightly before pouring into molds or tubes. Heat-sensitive additives such as vitamins, extracts, sweeteners and fragrances should be added once the mass has cooled to around 45-55 degrees, to preserve their activity. Store the component in a dry place at room temperature, in a tightly sealed container, away from direct sunlight and moisture, to maintain consistent structure over its shelf life.
