A gentle coconut-based cleanser building block for versatile formulations
Coco Glucoside is a mild non-ionic surfactant of plant origin, derived from coconut oil and glucose. This ingredient belongs to the wide category of Surfactants, which brings together cleansing and foaming components used across cosmetics, household chemistry and technical formulations. Thanks to its gentle nature, Coco Glucoside has become one of the most sought-after ingredients for sensitive skin formulas, baby care lines and products marketed for mild, low-irritation action.
The 1 kg packaging is well suited for studio and small-batch production: this volume allows regular output of trial and small runs of shampoos, shower gels, facial cleansers, intimate hygiene products and gentle household cleaning formulas. The component causes minimal irritation to mucous membranes and skin, which is why it is frequently used in baby cosmetics, products for sensitive and dry-prone skin, as well as micellar formulas and makeup removers.
Coco Glucoside blends well with other mild and supporting surfactants, boosting foam quality and stabilizing the texture of the finished product. Paired with Laureth 7, it produces a dense creamy lather without stripping the skin of natural oils, while adding RESSASOL Mango gives a lighter, airier foam texture with a pleasant scent. To soften the formula and boost moisturizing properties, formulators often add water-soluble Resplanta Palm oil, which improves the after-feel on skin and reduces post-wash dryness.
For production purposes, the recommended dosage of Coco Glucoside ranges from 5 to 20 percent depending on the product type and desired foam density. The component is introduced during the water phase mixing stage at a temperature of 40-60 degrees Celsius and is compatible with salt-based thickening systems, hydroxyethylcellulose and other non-ionic or amphoteric surfactants. It tolerates a broad pH range, making it convenient to combine with both acidic and alkaline formula components.
Beyond cosmetics, Coco Glucoside is used in household chemistry production - dish washing liquids and gentle cleaning formulas for fabrics and surfaces that require a mild action. In food and pharmaceutical industries, similar sugar-based surfactants are sometimes used as emulsifying agents, though the main global demand remains concentrated in skin and hair care applications.
Store the raw material in a tightly sealed container, in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, at room temperature, avoiding sharp temperature fluctuations and moisture entering the packaging.
