Amaranth Oil Extract Powers Industrial-Scale Skin and Hair Care Formulations
Amaranth oil extract is produced through oil maceration of amaranth seeds, which allows the finished concentrate to retain natural squalene, tocotrienols and unsaturated fatty acids at meaningful levels. This ingredient belongs to the Oil Extracts category, which brings together concentrates used across professional and industrial formulation work, and it is primarily demanded by the cosmetic manufacturing sector, followed closely by dietary supplement and functional food production, where squalene is valued for its oxidative stability.
The main applications of amaranth oil extract include body and facial creams, serums, balms and masks aimed at restoring the skin's lipid barrier and improving elasticity. In hair care formulas it is added to masks, conditioners and leave-in oils since squalene penetrates the hair shaft without leaving a heavy residue. The 1 liter packaging is aimed at laboratories, small-to-medium cosmetic manufacturers and contract production lines that need consistent raw material quality across recurring production runs rather than a single trial batch.
Amaranth extract pairs well with other oil concentrates, such as Sweet Almond Oil Extract for emollient emulsions, Guarana oil extract for toning and anti-cellulite body compositions, and Birch Bud Oil Extract for scalp and hair strengthening products. Recommended dosage typically ranges from 3 to 10 percent of the total formula weight depending on the product type: serums and facial oils tolerate the higher end, while emulsions and shampoos usually need less. The extract should be added during the cooling phase of the base, at a temperature not exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, to protect its heat-sensitive active compounds.
Amaranth oil extract should be stored in a tightly closed container, in a cool dark place away from direct sunlight and heat sources, which helps maintain its oxidative stability throughout the shelf life. For industrial use it is advisable to control warehouse storage conditions and minimize air exposure after each opening by transferring the working volume into a smaller container.
