White Peony Phytessence botanical active ingredient for hair care formulations and aqueous systems
White Peony Phytessence is a plant-derived active used in hair and scalp formulations where consistent behavior in aqueous and emulsion systems is required. It is incorporated into shampoos, conditioning systems, masks, leave-in products and spray formats. Botanical complexes of this type are also applied in SPA treatments, nutraceutical developments and plant-based processing liquids where controlled dispersion in water-based media is essential.
From a formulation perspective, White Peony Phytessence is a concentrated extract obtained from peony sources, containing a range of naturally derived compounds. It is introduced into formulations as part of the water phase and requires stable processing conditions to maintain its properties. The ingredient does not modify viscosity directly but contributes to the functional profile and interaction of components within the system.
In hair care applications, this active is used in products targeting scalp maintenance, hair length and styling support. It is combined with humectants, protein derivatives, amino acid systems and mild surfactant bases. In shampoos, it is added to the aqueous phase, while in conditioners and masks it functions within emulsion systems. In leave-in products, it is applied in lightweight fluid and gel-based formulations.
Functionally, White Peony Phytessence disperses evenly throughout the formulation, supporting a uniform active environment. It does not influence the structural framework of the product but depends on a properly designed base for stability. To preserve its characteristics, it is incorporated during the cooling stage after the primary formulation has been prepared.
In formulation practice, the ingredient is added after stabilization of the main aqueous or emulsion system. It is compatible with conditioning agents, botanical extracts, amino acids, proteins and mild preservation systems. When properly dispersed, it maintains stability across different formulation types.
Usage level is defined by technical specifications and optimized by the formulator according to product objectives.
Example formulation: Scalp gel with botanical complex
Purified water 67 ml
White Peony Phytessence 5 g
Propanediol 5 g
Xanthan gum 1 g
Nettle extract 8 ml
Panthenol 3 g
Hydrolyzed silk 3 g
Preservative 1 g
pH adjuster 7 g
Process: xanthan gum is dispersed in purified water under mixing until a gel base is formed. Propanediol and nettle extract are added with continuous mixing. After stabilization, panthenol and hydrolyzed silk are incorporated. During the cooling stage, White Peony Phytessence is added with gentle mixing. Preservative is introduced and pH is adjusted. The formulation is mixed until homogeneous and filled.
Example formulation: Conditioning hair emulsion system
Purified water 60 ml
White Peony Phytessence 5 g
Argan oil 10 g
Cetearyl alcohol 4 g
Cationic emulsifier 5 g
Panthenol 3 g
Amino acid complex 3 g
Preservative 1 g
Fragrance 9 g
Process: water and oil phases are prepared separately. The water phase includes purified water and amino acid complex, while the oil phase contains argan oil and emulsifier. After combining both phases, emulsification is performed. During the cooling stage, White Peony Phytessence and panthenol are incorporated. Preservative and fragrance are added at the final stage. The system is mixed until uniform and stabilized.
White Peony Phytessence is used as a botanical active in hair care formulations, supporting consistent dispersion, compatibility with multiple ingredients and integration into modern formulation systems.
