Usma Oil Eruca sativa Seed Oil botanical oil for cosmetic formulations

Usma Oil is a botanical oil obtained from seeds of Eruca sativa or Isatis tinctoria through cold pressing or mild extraction. The oil appears as a liquid with greenish yellow to olive color and mild herbal aroma.

The oil is fully soluble in lipid phases and compatible with plant oils, fatty alcohols and cosmetic emollients. Due to its lipophilic structure the ingredient integrates easily into oil blends, emulsions and balm formulations.

Castor oil 70 ml
Jojoba oil 50 ml
Grapeseed oil 40 ml
Beeswax 25 g
Sunflower lecithin 18 g
Purified water 440 ml

The oil phase is prepared by combining usma oil, castor oil, jojoba oil, grapeseed oil, beeswax and lecithin followed by heating until a uniform oil mixture forms. The water phase is heated separately and then incorporated into the oil phase with mixing to form an emulsion. During cooling the pH is adjusted to obtain stable cream texture.
