Fig Extract Powder botanical ingredient for cosmetic formulations and functional plant based systems
Fig Extract Powder is a concentrated botanical ingredient obtained from Ficus carica fruit through extraction followed by drying of the extract. The powder format provides convenient storage, transportation and accurate dosing during formulation development. The ingredient belongs to the group of botanical extracts used in modern cosmetic systems as functional plant components.
The powder disperses well in aqueous and glycol based systems and can be incorporated into the water phase of cosmetic formulations. The material is compatible with moisturizing ingredients, botanical extracts and functional cosmetic actives. The dry format enables the development of both liquid cosmetic formulations and powder cosmetic blends. Due to formulation stability the ingredient is used in laboratory development and industrial cosmetic manufacturing.
Properties and skin performance
In cosmetic formulations Fig Extract Powder provides a soft botanical sensory profile and integrates smoothly into plant based skincare systems. When dispersed in aqueous formulations the ingredient distributes evenly within the formulation structure. In cream emulsions the extract contributes to balanced texture and stable cosmetic systems.
Industry applications
Fig Extract Powder is used in facial creams, skin gels, masks, serums and lotions. The ingredient is incorporated into shampoos and hair care formulations. It is applied in SPA cosmetic systems and botanical skincare lines. The powder format allows the ingredient to be used in powder masks and dry cosmetic blends. The material is suitable for private label development, contract manufacturing and scalable industrial cosmetic production.
Formula example botanical skin cream
Purified water 620 ml
Glycerin 50 g
Propanediol 45 g
Fig Extract Powder 14 g
Sweet almond oil 100 ml
Olivem 1000 emulsifier 35 g
Panthenol 12 g
Allantoin 3 g
Preservative system 2 g
Glycerin and propanediol are dissolved in purified water to create the aqueous phase. Fig Extract Powder is dispersed in a small portion of the water phase to form a uniform suspension. Sweet almond oil and the emulsifier are heated to form the oil phase. The oil phase is gradually incorporated into the aqueous phase under mixing to form an emulsion. After partial cooling the fig extract suspension is introduced and mixed thoroughly. Panthenol and allantoin are then added. Finally the preservative system is incorporated and pH is adjusted to a stable range suitable for cosmetic emulsions.
Fig Extract Powder is positioned for B2B cosmetic manufacturers, formulation laboratories and contract manufacturing facilities. The ingredient supports formulation stability, technological compatibility and reproducible industrial production.
