- Protective Properties: It offers antioxidant benefits, helping to protect the skin from environmental stressors and supporting its natural barrier function.
Versatile Applications and Usage Areas in Cosmetics
Our Dried Immortelle Flowers are primarily used for their cosmetic application, making them an excellent raw material for creating a wide array of natural skincare products. They are not intended for use in candles.
- Infused Oils (Macerates):
- Facial Oils & Serums: Infuse Immortelle flowers in carrier oils like jojoba, almond, or olive oil for weeks to extract their fat-soluble compounds. This oil can then be used directly as a nourishing facial oil, or as a base for anti-aging serums, targeting dryness, redness, and mature skin.
- Massage Oils: Create deeply soothing and regenerating massage oils for body and face, ideal for tired muscles or sensitive skin.
- Balms & Salves: Infused oil can be incorporated into healing balms and salves for cracked skin, minor irritations, or post-sun exposure.
- Herbal Infusions / Teas (Aqueous Extracts):
- Facial Toners & Mists: Steep dried Immortelle flowers in hot distilled water to create a soothing and toning herbal infusion. Once cooled and strained, this can be used as a facial toner for sensitive, irritated, or mature skin, or as a refreshing facial mist.
- Compresses & Eye Pads: Use the cooled infusion in compresses for puffy eyes or irritated skin, providing instant relief and reducing inflammation.
- Mask Activators: Use the herbal infusion as the liquid phase to activate clay masks, enhancing their soothing and regenerative properties.
- Herbal Powders (Pulverized Flowers):
- Face Masks: The finely ground dried flowers can be directly added to powdered face masks, offering gentle exfoliation, soothing benefits, and a boost of natural antioxidants.
- Body Wraps: Incorporate into body wraps for a luxurious and therapeutic experience, promoting skin rejuvenation and detoxification.
- Soap Making (Cold Process & Melt & Pour):
- Botanical Additive: Whole or crushed dried Immortelle flowers can be added to handmade soaps for visual appeal and a gentle exfoliating texture. The infused oil can also be used as a superfatting agent in cold process soap for its skin benefits.
- Hair Care:
- Hair Rinses: An Immortelle infusion can be used as a final hair rinse to soothe the scalp, reduce irritation, and add a subtle natural shine.
- Scalp Treatments: The infused oil or a more concentrated extract can be massaged into the scalp to promote a healthy environment for hair growth and alleviate dryness or itchiness.

Instructions for Preparing Immortelle-Infused Jojoba Oil (Macerate):
- Prepare Immortelle Macerate (Infused Oil): Fill a clean, dry glass jar halfway with Dried Immortelle Flowers.
- Pour jojoba oil over the flowers, ensuring they are completely submerged.
- Close the jar tightly and place it in a sunny windowsill or a warm, dark place for 4-6 weeks. Shake the jar gently every day or two to encourage extraction.
- After the infusion period, strain the oil through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth, pressing the flowers to extract all the oil. Discard the spent flowers. Your Immortelle-infused jojoba oil is now ready.
Instructions for Preparing Facial Oil:
- Sanitize: Ensure all your equipment (beakers, stirring rods, droppers, and the final oil bottle) is thoroughly sanitized using isopropyl alcohol and allowed to air dry completely.
- Combine Oils: In a clean beaker, combine the prepared Immortelle-Infused Jojoba Oil with Rosehip Seed Oil and Vitamin E.
- Add Essential Oils: Carefully add the Lavender Essential Oil and Geranium Essential Oil to the blend.
- Mix Thoroughly: Stir the mixture gently but thoroughly for several minutes to ensure all ingredients are well combined.
- Bottle: Carefully transfer the finished facial oil into a clean, sterile dark glass dropper bottle to protect it from light.
Recommendations for Application and Use:
- Infusion Quality: The quality of your Immortelle-infused oil is paramount. Ensure the flowers are completely dry before infusion to prevent mold growth.
- Concentration: The 85% concentration of Immortelle-infused oil provides a potent blend. For a less concentrated product, you can reduce this and increase the percentage of rosehip seed oil.
- Storage: Store the finished facial oil in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight, to preserve the integrity of the natural oils and essential oils. A dark glass bottle is ideal.
- Application: After cleansing and toning, apply 2-4 drops of the facial oil to your face, neck, and décolletage. Gently massage into the skin until absorbed. Use morning and evening for best results.
- Patch Test: Always perform a patch test on a small, inconspicuous area of skin (e.g., inner forearm) before widespread use, especially if you have sensitive skin or are new to essential oils.
- Shelf Life: As this is an oil-based product with natural ingredients, aim to use it within 6-9 months, or as long as your infused oil's shelf life allows. Vitamin E helps to extend this.
