Properties	Softisan, or pyrrolidone carboxylic acid glyceryl oleate, is a versatile conditioning and emollient additive in various cosmetic products for both hair and skin. At physiological pH (5.5), the component molecule derived from the amino acid provides a positive charge, hence exhibiting high substantivity for skin and hair. Thanks to the presence of pyrrolidone carboxylic acid (PCA), which is also part of the natural moisturizing factor (NUF), Softisan has a positive effect on the skin's moisture level and protects the skin barrier by reducing transepidermal water loss (TEWL). Softisan is suitable for vegan cosmetics, it is 100% natural product, free of palm and palm kernel oil and produced in Germany to high quality standards.
Purpose	Softisan is a multifunctional skin and hair conditioning ingredient made from botanicals combined with PCA. This combination provides a high level of conditioning, hydration and reduces transepidermal water loss (TEWL). The effectiveness of the ingredient is comparable to the effectiveness of the well-known polyquaternium-10, however, the vegetable origin allows Softisan to be included in the recipes of natural and vegan cosmetics.
