How a berry CO2 blend supports antioxidant skincare formulations
Complex Berry CO2 Extract is a concentrate of biologically active compounds obtained through supercritical carbon dioxide extraction from a blend of berries. This extraction method preserves natural antioxidants, vitamins and polyphenols found in the raw plant material far better than conventional solvent extraction. The product belongs to the CO2 Extracts category, which brings together the most concentrated botanical extracts used across cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food manufacturing. The 100 g package size is aimed at small production studios, cosmetic laboratories and workshops that need a reliable stock of raw material for repeated batch manufacturing without frequent reordering.
The primary use of berry CO2 complex lies in skincare formulations. It is added to anti-aging creams, serums, emulsions, facial and body masks, lotions and balms intended to strengthen capillary walls, improve skin tone and provide protection against oxidative stress. The antioxidant compounds naturally present in berries help slow visible signs of premature aging and support the skin natural moisture balance. Recommended dosage ranges from 0.5 to 3 grams per 100 grams of finished formula, depending on the desired intensity of the effect. The extract should be introduced at the final stage of formulation, at a temperature below 40 degrees Celsius, to protect heat sensitive active compounds.
On an industrial scale, berry CO2 extract also finds application in the food industry as a natural source of antioxidants and coloring agents for beverages, confectionery and functional food products. In pharmaceutical manufacturing, similar concentrates are used in the development of dietary supplements and capsule formulations. Less frequently, it also appears in household chemical blends and fragrance compositions where a natural berry note is desired.
The berry complex combines well with other concentrates from the CO2 extract line, allowing manufacturers to build multifunctional formulations. For anti-aging skincare lines it is often paired with Complex CO2 for Against Aging Skin 5 g, boosting the overall antioxidant effect of the finished product. For hydrating serums and creams a suitable partner is Complex CO2 for Skin Hydration 5 g, which adds moisturizing support alongside the berry extract. For body care products targeting problem areas it is common to include Complex CO2 Anticellulite 5 g, creating a combined toning and metabolism stimulating effect.
The extract should be stored in a tightly sealed container, in a cool dark place, ideally refrigerated, avoiding direct contact with air and sunlight to preserve compound activity throughout its shelf life. When storage conditions are properly maintained, the product retains its properties for a long period and remains suitable for regular use in production cycles.
Antioxidant body lotion with berry CO2 complex
Distilled water 65 ml
Aloe vera gel 10 ml
Emulsifying wax 6 g
Sweet almond oil 12 ml
Complex Berry CO2 Extract 2 g
Preservative 1 ml
Panthenol 2 ml
Heat
the oil phase with the emulsifying wax to 65 degrees Celsius. Warm the water
phase with aloe vera gel to the same temperature, then slowly combine both
phases while stirring continuously until a smooth emulsion forms. Cool the
mixture to around 40 degrees, then add the berry CO2 extract, panthenol and
preservative. Mix thoroughly until fully blended and pour the finished lotion
into clean bottles for storage in a cool place.
