Botanical Sebum Control Ingredient for Studio and Bulk Cosmetic Manufacturing
Seboreductyl is a concentrated botanical active designed to regulate excessive sebum production on the skin surface. This raw material belongs to the category Anti Inflammatory And Anti Acne Actives, widely chosen by formulators developing serums, creams and toners for oily and blemish-prone skin, as well as scalp care products for oily hair. The 1 liter package fits studio and small-batch production well, giving private label brands and small cosmetic workshops enough volume to fine-tune formulas and launch initial commercial batches without overcommitting on raw material.
The primary application field is skincare and haircare aimed at oily, combination skin with enlarged pores and breakout tendencies. The active works by moderating sebaceous gland activity and restoring the lipid balance on the skin surface, which is why it appears in mattifying emulsions, sebum-control gels, post-cleansing lotions and targeted masks. Beyond facial skincare, formulators use this component extensively in shampoos and conditioners for oily hair, as well as in body and back treatments for oily, congested skin.
Seboreductyl blends well with other sebum-regulating and anti-inflammatory actives. Pairing it with Zinc pyrithione 10 ml strengthens the antimicrobial and calming profile of the formula, a combination particularly valued in anti-blemish and anti-dandruff products. It is also frequently combined with Lysophosphatidylcholine 5 g, which improves the penetration of active ingredients and boosts the overall efficiency of the sebum-control formula. To protect the finished batch from microbial contamination over a longer shelf life, adding a preservative such as COVAFRESH IV 10 ml is a practical choice for manufacturers.
The active should be added at the final stage of production, into the water phase or finished emulsion, at a temperature not exceeding 40 degrees Celsius to preserve the integrity of the botanical complex. A typical working dosage ranges from 2 to 5 percent of the total formula weight, with the exact percentage adjusted by the formulator depending on the product type and desired intensity of action. The raw material should be stored in a tightly closed container, in a cool dark place away from direct sunlight and temperature fluctuations, to maintain stability throughout its shelf life.
Thanks to its plant-derived origin and gentle mode of action, this ingredient suits formulas targeting sensitive or reactive skin, where harsher sebum regulators are not suitable. Formulators appreciate its predictable viscosity and good compatibility with most emulsifiers and gelling agents, which simplifies scaling from a lab sample to a full production batch.
Mattifying Facial Serum for Oily Skin
