Cherry Pigment cosmetic colorant for decorative and functional formulations
Cherry Pigment is a dry coloring material used in cosmetic and related formulations to provide a насыщенный red burgundy shade. Depending on composition it may be based on mineral pigments or organic colorants. INCI varies and may include Iron Oxides CI 77491 CI 77499 or approved organic pigments. It is applied in systems where color stability uniform distribution and resistance to external factors are required.
What it is and where it is used
Cherry Pigment is used in decorative cosmetics including lipsticks eyeshadows blushes powders and foundation systems. It is also applied in soap making candle production and other colored bases.
In formulation development it is used to create color tones and adjust shades. It is suitable for systems where controlled color without migration is required.
How it works
The pigment does not dissolve in the medium but disperses evenly within the base creating color through light reflection and absorption. The particles remain suspended and define the visual appearance.
Color intensity depends on particle size and the quality of dispersion within the formulation.
Properties
Deep cherry red shade
High covering ability
Stable color during storage
Insoluble in water and oils
Compatible with various cosmetic bases
Suitable for both dry and liquid systems
Applications across industries
In cosmetics it is used in decorative products and colored bases
In soap making it is used to color melt and pour systems
In candle manufacturing it is used for coloration
In food related systems only when compliant with regulations
In formulation development it functions as a color component
Behavior in formulation
Cherry Pigment is insoluble and requires dispersion. It can be added directly to dry bases or pre dispersed in oil or glycerin.
Uniform color requires thorough mixing. In emulsions it is added to the appropriate phase depending on the system.
How to use
Add as dry powder or as a pre dispersion
Use grinding or mixing for better distribution
Introduce into oil or water phase depending on formulation
Recommended usage level
0.1 to 5 percent depending on desired intensity
Higher levels may be used in decorative systems
Adjust dosage according to shade requirements
Formulation example
Pigmented soap with cherry shade
Soap Base — 900 g
Cherry Pigment — 5 g
Glycerin — 20 ml
Cherry Fragrance Oil — 5 ml
Sweet Almond Oil — 20 ml
Processing
The soap base is melted until liquid. The pigment is pre mixed with glycerin to achieve even dispersion.
The dispersion is added to the base with mixing. Oil and fragrance are then incorporated.
The mixture is poured into molds and allowed to solidify.
Important considerations
Proper dispersion is required for uniform color
Shade varies depending on base and concentration
Color behavior may change across different systems
Final result depends on the full formulation composition
