Description and Key Features
Our Blueberry Thyme Fragrance Oil is a meticulously blended liquid, offering a harmonious fusion of fruity, herbal, and warm notes. Its intricate aromatic profile ensures your products will stand out, leaving a lasting impression.
Key features and benefits:
- Gourmet Aromatic Profile: A truly unique fragrance that defies traditional categories, combining the juicy sweetness of blueberries with the sophisticated, earthy notes of thyme and rosemary, brightened by citrus and grounded by vanilla and musk.
- Versatile Solubility: Easily disperses in various alcohols, including ethanol, propylene glycol, perfumer's alcohol, benzyl, isopropyl, isopropyl myristate, and diethyl phthalate, maintaining solution clarity. It also mixes excellently with oils but is insoluble in water.
- Vanilla Content: Contains 5.00% vanillin. Please note that vanillin can cause discoloration in certain products (e.g., soaps, candles). We recommend using a color stabilizer to prevent this, ensuring your final product maintains its desired appearance.
- Broad Application Range: Suitable for a wide array of handmade cosmetics, home fragrance items, and cleaning products.
Versatile Applications and Usage Areas
Blueberry Thyme Fragrance Oil is a highly adaptable component, perfect for infusing your handmade creations with its distinctive gourmet aroma. Its unique blend of sweet and savory notes makes it a captivating addition to various product lines.
- Candles and Wax Melts:
- Vegetable Waxes and Paraffin: Use up to 10% fragrance oil for a strong hot and cold throw. This makes it an excellent choice for crafting artisanal candles and wax melts that fill a room with their sophisticated scent.
- Perfumery and Home Fragrance:
- Solid Perfumes and Incense: Can be used at a high concentration, up to 50%, for powerful, long-lasting aroma in solid perfumes or incense sticks and cones.
- Room Sprays and Diffuser Oils: For room sprays (which would require a solubilizer as it's not water-soluble) or diffuser oils, its unique profile creates an inviting and sophisticated ambiance.
- Body Care and Cosmetics:
- Bath Oil, Soap, and Bath Gel: Incorporate up to 1% in bath oils, handmade soaps (both melt-and-pour and cold process), and bath gels. The complex scent will transform everyday cleansing into a luxurious experience. (Remember to use a color stabilizer for soaps due to vanillin content.)
- Lotions and Perfumes (Eau de Toilette/Eau de Parfum): For lotions and alcohol-based perfumes, use up to 1%. While perfume concentrations generally allow for higher fragrance loads, this specific fragrance oil, due to its solubility and intended use in this context, is recommended at 1% for lotions and lighter perfume formats to ensure a pleasant, non-overpowering scent. For stronger perfume formats, consider testing higher percentages within IFRA guidelines, but generally 1% is a good starting point for cosmetics.
- Bath Bombs: Add this fragrance to bath bombs for a delightful aromatic fizz, creating an immersive and relaxing bath experience. Use up to 1%.
- Cleaning Products:
- Cleaning Solutions and Soaps: Integrate up to 1% into household cleaning solutions or general-purpose soaps to impart a fresh, unique aroma that elevates the cleaning experience.
This fragrance oil provides an exciting opportunity to differentiate your products with a truly memorable and complex scent profile, offering worldwide shipping for your convenience.

Instructions for Soap Making (Cold Process Method):
- Safety First: Wear appropriate safety gear (gloves, eye protection, long sleeves) in a well-ventilated area. Keep vinegar nearby to neutralize any spills.
- Prepare Lye Solution (Phase A): Carefully weigh distilled water into a heat-resistant container. Slowly add sodium hydroxide (lye) to the water, stirring gently until fully dissolved. The solution will heat up. Set aside to cool to 40-50°C (105-120°F).
- Prepare Oil Phase (Phase B): In a separate heat-resistant container, weigh and combine all solid oils (Coconut Oil, Palm Oil). Gently melt them over low heat. Once melted, add liquid oils (Olive Oil, Castor Oil, Sweet Almond Oil). Stir to combine and ensure the oil blend cools to 40-50°C (105-120°F), similar to the lye solution temperature.
- Combine Phases: When both the lye solution and oil blend are within the target temperature range, slowly pour the lye solution into the oil blend. Using an immersion blender, blend in short bursts, stirring manually in between, until the mixture reaches "trace" (when the mixture thickens and leaves a slight trail on the surface when drizzled).
- Add Phase C: At trace, add the Blueberry Thyme Fragrance Oil and the Vanilla Stabilizer (pre-mixed 1:1 with the fragrance oil for best results). If using titanium dioxide or mica colorants, add them now. Blend briefly to fully incorporate.
- Pour into Mold: Pour the soap batter into your prepared soap mold.
- Insulate and Cure: Cover the mold and insulate it with a towel for 24-48 hours. After 24-48 hours, unmold the soap and cut it into bars. Allow the soap to cure in a well-ventilated area for 4-6 weeks. This process allows the soap to fully saponify and harden, improving its longevity and mildness.
Recommendations for Use:
- Fragrance Oil %: A 1% usage rate of Blueberry Thyme Fragrance Oil is suitable for soaps and will provide a noticeable scent. For a stronger aroma, you can increase up to the maximum recommended 1% for soaps, but note that the maximum suggested for cold process soap is sometimes higher in general, for this specific FO follow this guidance.
- Vanilla Stabilizer: The inclusion of 5.00% vanillin in this fragrance oil makes a vanilla stabilizer essential to prevent the soap from discoloring (turning brown or yellow) over time. Mix the stabilizer with the fragrance oil at a 1:1 ratio before adding to the soap batter.
- Temperature: Ensure your lye and oil temperatures are within the recommended range for cold process soaping for proper emulsification and trace.
- Safety: Always prioritize safety when working with lye. Follow proper ventilation and protection guidelines.
- Curing: The 4-6 week curing period is crucial for cold process soap. It ensures a harder, milder, and longer-lasting bar with a more developed scent.
- Application: Use as a regular body soap. The unique scent profile will provide an uplifting and sophisticated experience.
