Product Description
Lanette O co emulsifier and structuring fatty alcohol for stable industrial formulation systems
Lanette O is a fatty alcohol raw material based on Cetearyl Alcohol used in formulation as a co emulsifier and structuring component. This functional ingredient is widely applied in industrial production due to its ability to form stable emulsion structures. It is compatible with Olivem 1000, Montanov 68, Emulsifying Wax NF, BTMS, Behentrimonium Methosulfate and Cetrimonium Chloride. Global demand is driven by Food and Beverage, emulsion systems, cleaning products and contract manufacturing. In formulation it acts as a co emulsifier.
Properties and functional role in formulation
Lanette O functions as a fatty alcohol ingredient in the oil phase. When heated it melts and upon cooling forms a stable structure. It is compatible with Xanthan Gum, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Carbomer and preservatives such as Euxyl PE 9010, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Benzoate and Potassium Sorbate. It improves stability and texture.
Properties and result in final product
In finished products it creates dense texture and ensures stability. In creams it prevents separation. In hair care it improves distribution. In cleaning systems it stabilizes structure. In food systems it influences texture.
Application
Lanette O is used across industries. In Food and Beverage it is applied in emulsified products. In flavor systems it acts as a structuring component. In cosmetics it is used in creams and lotions. In hair care it is used in conditioners with BTMS and Cetrimonium Chloride. In SPA it is used in emulsions. In cleaning it is used in cream products. In pharmaceutical and supplement sectors it is used in carriers. In fragrance it is used in aromatic products. In private label it is widely used.
Recipe
Conditioning hair emulsion with Lanette O
Purified water — 700 ml
Lanette O — 50 g
BTMS — 40 g
Cetrimonium Chloride — 10 g
Argan oil — 120 ml
Caprylic Capric Triglyceride — 80 ml
Glycerin — 40 ml
Hydroxyethylcellulose — 3 g
Euxyl PE 9010 — 5 ml
Water phase is prepared with Hydroxyethylcellulose and glycerin. Oil phase is heated and combined. Phases are emulsified with homogenization. During cooling actives and preservative are added. The system stabilizes into a uniform emulsion.
Production stability and scaling
The component shows stable performance during scale up and ensures reproducibility. Process parameters must be controlled. It integrates easily into B2B manufacturing systems.
