Product Description

L22 Liplex 22 botanical lipid complex for skin hair and lip care

L22, also known as Liplex 22, is a multi-component botanical lipid complex for facial cosmetics, lip care, hair products, and body formulations. Its composition, Jojoba Oil/Macadamia Seed Oil Esters, Squalene, Phytosteryl Macadamiate, Phytosterols, Tocopherol, combines several distinct lipid groups within one cosmetic raw material.

The complex can be used in facial creams, emulsion serums, anhydrous concentrates, lip balms, hair masks, conditioners, leave-in creams, body lotions, and professional cosmetic products.

Rather than functioning as a simple blend of vegetable oils, L22 combines esterified jojoba and macadamia-derived lipids with squalene, phytosterol-based materials, and tocopherol. This makes it particularly relevant for advanced lipid phase design and modern cosmetic textures.

Facial cream development

Liplex 22 can be incorporated into daily moisturizers, richer night creams, cream masks, and emulsion serums.

For lightweight formulations, it may be combined with Squalane and modern low-viscosity emollients. Richer creams may include Jojoba Oil, Macadamia Oil, botanical butters, and additional structuring materials.

The complete oil phase should be considered during formulation development. If a product already contains substantial amounts of oils, butters, and waxes, adding a complex lipid material may significantly change viscosity, spreading behavior, and after-feel.

For lightweight facial products, L22 can be balanced with lower-viscosity lipids to create a more refined sensory profile.

Anhydrous facial serums

L22 can be used in oil serums and concentrated anhydrous products.

It may be blended with Squalane, Jojoba Oil, and selected lightweight emollients. For richer night concentrates, additional botanical oils may be included according to the intended texture.

Because Tocopherol is already present in the composition, formulators should consider the complete antioxidant system rather than automatically adding multiple overlapping materials.

Anhydrous formulas should be evaluated at different storage temperatures. Complex lipid mixtures may show changes in viscosity or visual appearance when cooled.

Lip balm and lip mask concepts

Liplex 22 is suitable for lip balms, jar masks, sticks, and lipid-based gloss products.

In sticks, the ingredient can be combined with waxes, butters, and liquid emollients. The ratio between solid and liquid materials should be optimized experimentally.

For jar balms, a softer structure can be created with a higher proportion of liquid lipids. Overnight lip masks may use a richer, more substantial texture.

The ingredient supports product concepts based on a sophisticated botanical lipid system without requiring a very long list of individual vegetable oils.

Hair mask applications

L22 can be incorporated into rinse-off masks, conditioners, leave-in creams, and end serums.

In rinse-off masks, the ingredient becomes part of the lipid phase and may be combined with conditioning materials, fatty alcohols, and selected emollients.

For fine hair products, the total lipid load should be carefully controlled. Lightweight emulsions are generally more appropriate than formulas overloaded with oils.

For porous or dry-feel hair concepts, richer masks can be developed with L22 and complementary botanical lipids.

Conditioner development

In conditioning emulsions, Liplex 22 can be used alongside cationic conditioning systems and fatty alcohols.

A daily conditioner may use a lighter lipid structure, while an intensive mask can contain a more substantial oil phase.

The same ingredient can be used across a coordinated hair care collection, but the complete formula should be adapted to the intended application and hair type.

Leave-in creams require particular attention to spreading and residue. L22 can be balanced with lightweight emollients to reduce an overly heavy oil feel.

Body and hand care

Liplex 22 is suitable for body lotions, hand creams, richer body creams, and professional SPA emulsions.

In lightweight body lotions, it may be combined with Squalane and low-viscosity emollients.

Hand creams can use a richer structure with botanical oils and appropriate structuring agents.

For body butter concepts, L22 may be combined with botanical butters and liquid oils. The balance should be optimized to avoid an unnecessarily waxy texture.

Understanding the composition

Jojoba Oil/Macadamia Seed Oil Esters form the ester component of the complex and combine jojoba and macadamia-derived lipid fractions.

Squalene is an unsaturated lipid component and should not be confused with Squalane, which is a different, hydrogenated material.

Phytosteryl Macadamiate is a phytosterol-derived lipid material associated with macadamia fatty acid fractions.

Phytosterols contribute plant-derived sterol components to the complex.

Tocopherol is the oil-soluble antioxidant component included within the ingredient composition.

Together, these materials create a more sophisticated lipid profile than a conventional mixture of vegetable oils.

Formulation combinations

For facial products, L22 can be combined with Squalane, Jojoba Oil, lightweight emollients, ceramide systems, and other compatible lipid-phase materials.

For lip products, potential partners include botanical waxes, beeswax, butters, and liquid emollients.

In hair care, the ingredient can be used with conditioning bases, Cetyl Alcohol, amino acid complexes, and hydrolyzed proteins.

For body care, combinations with Grape Seed Oil, Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, and selected butters can be explored.

Every combination should be evaluated in the complete formula because changes in the lipid phase can influence both sensory properties and physical stability.

How to use L22 Liplex 22

In emulsions, incorporate L22 according to the processing requirements of the selected oil phase and emulsification system.

In anhydrous serums, blend it with other oils and emollients until the product is completely uniform.

In lip balms and sticks, incorporate the ingredient into the prepared wax and lipid system according to the thermal requirements of the formula.

In hair masks, use L22 as part of the lipid phase of the conditioning emulsion.

Evaluate the finished product for appearance, odor, viscosity, uniformity, storage stability, and behavior at different temperatures.

Example L22 facial lipid cream

Purified Water 700 ml

L22 Liplex 22 65 g

Squalane 50 g

Jojoba Oil 35 g

Grape Seed Oil 25 g

Emulsifier 55 g

Cetyl Alcohol 20 g

Glycerin 30 g

Betaine 10 g

Preservative System 8 g

Fragrance Composition 2 g

Total Batch Weight 1000 g

Dissolve Betaine in Purified Water and add Glycerin.

In a separate vessel, combine L22 Liplex 22, Squalane, Jojoba Oil, Grape Seed Oil, Emulsifier, and Cetyl Alcohol.

Process both phases according to the requirements of the selected emulsification system. Combine the phases and homogenize until a uniform emulsion is formed.

Begin controlled cooling and add the Preservative System and Fragrance Composition at the appropriate processing stage.

Before scale-up, evaluate pH, viscosity, appearance, storage stability, sensory properties, and packaging compatibility.

L22 Liplex 22 is a versatile botanical lipid complex for facial creams, oil serums, lip care, hair masks, conditioners, body lotions, and professional cosmetics. Its combination of jojoba and macadamia esters, squalene, phytosteryl macadamiate, phytosterols, and tocopherol supports advanced lipid phase design across multiple cosmetic categories.
