A ready-blended solid oil that speeds up small-batch formula testing
Combo Oil is a pre-made blend of several solid plant fats formulated to deliver a stable texture, nourishing properties and convenient melting at a moderate temperature. This blend belongs to the butters category widely used in the production of lip balms, body creams, anti-stretch mark sticks, beard care products, massage bars and nourishing hair masks. The 20 g size is aimed mainly at home formulators who want to test a recipe before scaling up to a larger batch, as well as anyone studying how a blend of solid fats behaves in their own formulas without risking a large amount of raw material.
The main use of this combined base is in skincare and color cosmetics, where a firm yet easily applicable texture matters most. Combo Oil often serves as the foundation for lip and body sticks, solid conditioners, whipped body butters, anti-cellulite bars and protective hand balms for cold weather. Thanks to the combination of several plant fats, the blend melts predictably, sets cleanly in molds and holds its shape well in the finished product at room temperature. Beyond cosmetics, similar solid fat blends are used in candle making as an additive to improve wax plasticity, and in household chemistry for producing solid conditioners for wood and leather goods.
Combo Oil pairs well with other solid and liquid components from the base oils line. For instance, to add weight to the texture and a chocolate note, formulators can include Cocoa Mass, which also acts as a natural antioxidant. To increase firmness and extend shelf stability, Unrefined Palm Oil is often added, while Coconut Oil Refined lends a lighter, silkier texture and faster skin absorption. By combining these ingredients in different ratios, formulators can achieve a wide range of textures, from dense balms to light whipped butters.
The recommended usage rate for Combo Oil in a finished formula usually ranges from 15 to 40 percent of the total fat phase, depending on the desired firmness. It should be introduced during the fat phase melting stage, using a water bath at 60-70 degrees Celsius together with other solid components, while heat-sensitive additives such as essential oils and vitamins should be added once the mixture cools to 40-45 degrees after removing it from the bath. Store the product in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight in a tightly closed container to preserve its structure and properties over time.
