Product Description
Cocamide DEA ingredient for boosting foam and viscosity in cleansing formulations
Cocamide DEA is a coconut fatty acid derived ingredient widely used in cleansing formulations for skin and hair care. It is incorporated to stabilize foam, increase viscosity and improve consumer perception of cleansing products. The ingredient integrates easily into liquid formulations and is compatible with common surfactant systems, making it suitable for both laboratory development and industrial production.
It is commonly used in daily cleansing formulations to create products with thicker texture and stable foam performance.
Properties and skin appearance outcome
In cleansing systems Cocamide DEA supports formation of creamier foam, improves product distribution and contributes to clean skin feel after use. Products containing this ingredient are perceived as thicker and more comfortable during application.
In hair care systems the ingredient helps distribute shampoo more evenly through hair, improving overall washing experience.
Application across industries
Cocamide DEA is used in shampoos, liquid soaps, shower gels, facial cleansers, hand wash products and professional cleansing formulations. The ingredient is widely adopted in private label production thanks to its ability to improve formulation stability and final product texture.
It is incorporated to increase viscosity, stabilize foam and enhance cleansing system performance.
Recipe for thick daily care shampoo formulation
Purified water 58 ml
Sodium Laureth Sulfate 25 ml
Cocamidopropyl Betaine 10 ml
Cocamide DEA 4 ml
Vegetable glycerin 3 ml
Hydrolyzed silk 3 ml
Preservative Euxyl PE 9010 1 ml
Fragrance 1 ml
Sodium Laureth Sulfate is gradually added to prepared water with gentle mixing to avoid excessive foam formation. Cocamidopropyl Betaine is then incorporated until a uniform cleansing base forms. After stabilization Cocamide DEA is added while mixing continues until viscosity increases and components distribute evenly. Glycerin and hydrolyzed silk are then introduced, followed by preservative and fragrance while mixing continues until stable texture forms. The finished shampoo is allowed to stabilize before packaging.
Cocamide DEA is positioned for B2B cleansing product manufacturing supporting stable formulation performance and scalable industrial production.
