Product Description
Bulk botanical concentrate for calming formulations and functional foods
This powdered concentrate is produced from the aerial parts of the passionflower plant through extraction, drying and fine milling into a consistent powder. The 1 kg format is designed for manufacturing facilities, formulation laboratories and companies that need a reliable, uninterrupted supply of raw material rather than frequent reordering of small batches. Working with a single large batch helps technologists maintain consistency across production runs and simplifies quality control throughout the manufacturing cycle. This ingredient belongs to the Powdered Extracts and Algae category, which brings together botanical and marine concentrates used across cosmetic, food and pharmaceutical production.
The primary global demand for passionflower powder comes from calming and antioxidant skincare formulations, as well as the food and nutraceutical industries, where the plant is valued for its flavonoid and alkaloid content associated with a mild relaxing effect. In cosmetic manufacturing the powder is incorporated into serums, creams for sensitive and irritated skin, toners, redness-reducing treatments and anti-aging lines, since its antioxidant complex helps neutralize free radicals and support the skin barrier. In the food sector the extract is used in herbal teas, functional beverages, encapsulated supplements and products aimed at reducing nervous tension. Pharmaceutical and nutraceutical manufacturers include passionflower in sedative-profile complex formulations, while household chemical producers occasionally use it in relaxing bath products and aromatic blends.
In water-based and glycerin systems the powder should be introduced during the active ingredient mixing stage at temperatures not exceeding 40-45 degrees Celsius, to prevent degradation of heat-sensitive bioactive compounds. Recommended dosage in cosmetic formulations ranges from 0.5 to 3 percent of total batch weight, while concentration in food products and supplements is determined individually according to regulatory requirements and the intended effect. The extract combines well with other botanical concentrates to enhance the overall function of the finished product: pairing it with Aronia Extract Powder boosts antioxidant support, combining it with Coconut Extract Powder works well for nourishing and softening formulas, and blending it with Ginseng Extract Powder adds a toning dimension to the final product. Store the raw material in a tightly sealed container, in a dry area away from direct sunlight, at a temperature not exceeding 25 degrees Celsius, to preserve the activity of the biological complex for the entire declared shelf life.
Calming night cream base for stressed skin
Distilled water 400 ml
Passionflower extract powder 18 g
Emulsifying wax 60 g
Jojoba oil 50 ml
Vitamin E oil 5 ml
Broad spectrum preservative 12 ml
Melt the emulsifying wax together with jojoba oil in a water bath at around 70 degrees Celsius until fully liquid. Separately warm the distilled water to the same temperature and gradually pour it into the oil phase while blending continuously with a hand mixer until the emulsion thickens. Once the mixture cools to about 40 degrees, dissolve the passionflower extract powder directly into the emulsion, add vitamin E oil and the preservative, then mix thoroughly for another two minutes before transferring the finished cream into clean jars for cooling and packaging.
