Papaya Powder Extract 10% enzyme enriched botanical for cosmetic and functional formulations
Papaya Powder Extract 10% is a standardized powdered ingredient derived from Carica papaya fruit, containing a defined level of enzymatic fraction together with naturally occurring organic acids and plant compounds. INCI Carica Papaya Fruit Extract. The material is used in cosmetic, food, and functional systems as a source of enzymatic activity and plant-derived components. It is applied in formulations where controlled surface interaction, renewal processes, and stable performance in aqueous phases are required.
What it is and where it is used
Papaya Powder Extract 10% is incorporated into gels, masks, serums, cleansing systems, and light emulsions. It is also used in SPA applications and functional product development.
The ingredient is selected for formulations that require mild enzymatic action, improved texture, and uniform activity distribution within the system.
How it works
The enzyme papain interacts with protein structures on the surface, providing controlled enzymatic action. When dispersed in the aqueous phase, the extract forms a uniform active system.
The extract also contains organic acids and sugars that support distribution and contribute to formulation structure.
Properties
Contains papain enzyme fraction
Supports controlled surface renewal processes
Dispersible in aqueous systems
Compatible with glycerin and water-soluble actives
Suitable for gel and cleansing formulations
Mild natural fruity aroma
Applications across industries
In cosmetics it is used in masks, enzyme-based systems, gels, and cleansers
In SPA formulations it is used in enzyme treatments
In food systems it is used in functional compositions
In formulation development it is used as an enzyme-active component
Behavior in formulation
Papaya Powder Extract 10% disperses in the water phase and is not soluble in oils. In emulsions it is added to the aqueous phase.
Enzymatic activity depends on temperature and pH conditions. Elevated temperatures may reduce activity.
How to use
Add to the water phase during the cooling stage
Pre-disperse in glycerin for improved distribution
Avoid overheating and prolonged exposure to high temperature
Recommended usage level
0.1 to 2 percent depending on activity level
Typical range in gels and masks 0.2 to 1 percent
Adjust according to required intensity
Formulation example
Enzyme gel mask with papaya extract
Purified Water — 700 ml
Aloe Vera Gel — 200 ml
Papaya Powder Extract 10% — 5 g
Glycerin — 40 ml
Panthenol — 10 ml
Phenoxyethanol Ethylhexylglycerin — 5 ml
Tropical Fragrance Oil — 2 ml
Processing
Papaya Powder Extract 10% is pre-dispersed in glycerin to ensure even distribution. The dispersion is added to the water phase during cooling.
Aloe Vera Gel is incorporated to build structure. Panthenol, preservative, and fragrance are added at the final stage.
The system is mixed until homogeneous.
Important considerations
Enzyme activity is sensitive to temperature and pH
Add at low temperature to preserve functionality
Storage conditions affect activity level
Final performance depends on complete formulation composition
