Tansy Concentrate Supports Scalp Care and Natural Protection in Industrial Formulas
Tansy extract concentrate is produced through deep extraction of the plant raw material, which preserves a high level of active compounds such as flavonoids, tannins and natural essential fractions in the finished product. This concentrate belongs to the Extract Concentrates category, which brings together botanical raw materials with strong biological activity for precise dosing into industrial and small-batch formulations. The 1 liter packaging is aimed primarily at manufacturers running continuous production lines who need a stable, recurring supply for cosmetic plants as well as household chemical production.
The main application of tansy concentrate is scalp and hair care. It is traditionally added to anti-dandruff shampoos, tonics and serums for oily scalp thanks to its pronounced sebum-balancing and astringent properties. In facial skin care it is introduced into lotions, masks and toning creams designed for oily and blemish-prone skin. Beyond cosmetics, tansy has long been used as a natural component in household chemical products - repellent sprays, sachets and textile protection formulas against insects, which keeps demand for this raw material spread across several industries rather than concentrated in beauty alone.
The recommended dosage of tansy concentrate in finished formulations ranges from 1 to 5 percent of the total product weight, depending on the formula type and desired intensity of action. It is best introduced during the cooling stage of an emulsion, at temperatures not exceeding 40-45 degrees Celsius, to prevent degradation of heat-sensitive compounds. In water phases of shampoos, tonics and sprays the concentrate can be added directly to the cold phase without prior heating.
Tansy blends well with other botanical concentrates, allowing formulators to build complex multi-ingredient blends for specific goals. In tonics for oily and blemish-prone skin it is often paired with Lingonberry Extract Concentrate, which enhances the toning and refreshing effect of the formula. In calming products for sensitive scalp it works well combined with Verbena Extract Concentrate. To soften the drying effect of tansy, formulators frequently add Mallow Extract Concentrate, which balances the overall care profile and makes the finished product more comfortable for daily use.
The concentrate should be stored in a tightly closed container, in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and heat sources, which helps maintain the stability of active compounds throughout the entire shelf life. In industrial use it is important to reseal the container tightly after each withdrawal and avoid prolonged contact of the content with air to prevent oxidation.
