Resin-Based Botanical for Firming and Restorative Formulations
Dragon's Blood Extract is obtained from the resinous sap of tropical plants of the Croton and Dracaena genera, native to South America and Southeast Asia. This raw material has been used for centuries across traditional practices worldwide, and today it plays a growing role in anti-aging skincare, products for blemish-prone skin, hair care formulations, and even in decorative arts as a natural colorant for varnishes, inks, and incense blends. This product belongs to the Powdered Extracts and Algae category, which brings together concentrated botanical ingredients for professional formulation work.
The main application of this extract lies in serums, creams, and masks aimed at skin firming, since the tannins and polyphenols present in the resin show strong astringent and antioxidant activity. The ingredient is popular in mature skin formulas, after-shave and post-depilation products, and treatments for reactive, easily irritated skin. In the pharmaceutical and dietary supplement industry the extract is used as a component of capsules and tinctures, while in perfumery and incense manufacturing it serves as a base note for resinous, woody compositions.
The 100 g package suits small-batch and studio-scale production: this quantity is enough for repeated test batches, limited product lines, or steady lab use over several months. Because the extract is highly concentrated, the recommended usage rate is typically between 0.1% and 1% of the total formula weight. It should be added at the final stage of emulsion preparation, at a temperature not exceeding 40-45 degrees Celsius, to preserve heat-sensitive compounds.
Dragon's Blood Extract combines well with other botanical concentrates: in complex toning and firming formulas it is often paired with Immortelle Extract, which reinforces the restorative effect. For calming and soothing formulations, a good complement is Linden Flower Extract, and in products focused on overall skin tone it pairs effectively with Elecampane Extract Powder.
Store the extract in a dry, dark place at room temperature, in a tightly sealed container, avoiding direct contact with moisture since the powder is hygroscopic. Under proper storage conditions the raw material retains its activity for a long period, making it convenient for industrial-scale batches and long-term supply planning.
