Bulk Broccoli Powder Concentrate for Large-Scale Formulations
Broccoli extract powder is a concentrated ingredient derived from the florets of this cruciferous vegetable through gentle drying that preserves sulforaphane, B vitamins, ascorbic acid and various antioxidant compounds. The 1 kg package is designed for manufacturers working at industrial volumes, as well as laboratories and smaller workshops that need a reliable stock of raw material for consistent production runs without frequent reordering. This ingredient belongs to the Powdered Extracts and Algae category, which brings together concentrated botanical materials used across multiple processing industries.
The primary demand for broccoli extract worldwide comes from skincare manufacturing, where it appears in antioxidant serums, anti-aging creams, formulations for oily and blemish-prone skin, and hair strengthening products. Sulforaphane and glucosinolates naturally present in the plant are valued for neutralizing free radicals and supporting the skin's protective barrier, which is why the powder is commonly introduced into day and night creams, emulsions, masks and lotions. Beyond cosmetic production, this powder is also used in dietary supplement manufacturing and functional food development, where concentrated plant nutrients are in demand, as well as in formulating feed additives for livestock nutrition.
The extract dissolves well in the water phase of a formulation and should be added once the mixture has cooled to around 35-40 degrees Celsius, protecting heat-sensitive active compounds from degradation. Recommended dosage in cosmetic emulsions ranges from 0.5 to 2 percent of total formula weight, while serums can carry concentrations up to 3 percent. For even distribution, it is best to pre-dissolve the powder in a small amount of water or hydrosol before blending the resulting suspension into the main batch. Broccoli extract pairs well with other botanical concentrates, such as Ginkgo Biloba extract powder, which enhances microcirculation and complements the antioxidant effect, and with licorice root extract powder, known for its soothing action on irritated skin. For toning and strengthening formulas, ginseng extract powder works as a good complementary ingredient, adding stimulating properties to the finished product.
For industrial manufacturing, batch stability matters: the powder should be stored in a sealed container away from direct light and moisture, at room temperature without sharp fluctuations. Once opened, it is advisable to use the material within a reasonable timeframe and transfer any remainder into a tightly sealed container to prevent oxidation of active compounds. The 1 kg format allows manufacturers to integrate the raw material into a production cycle without constant stock monitoring, which is convenient for planned large-batch output of skincare lines.
In some niche formulations, the extract is also used in cold-process soap bars and solid cosmetic bars as a source of plant antioxidants, though this application remains secondary compared to its main use in skincare manufacturing.
