Geranium Essential Oil is obtained through steam distillation of the leaves and stems of Pelargonium graveolens. The material appears as a clear liquid ranging from light yellow to greenish yellow with a distinctive floral herbal aroma with rose like notes. The oil is fully soluble in lipid phases, plant oils, waxes and emollients and disperses well in alcohol based fragrance compositions. It is not soluble in water and is incorporated into the oil phase or fragrance blends. Jojoba oil 90 ml
Sweet almond oil 80 ml
Grape seed oil 70 ml
Squalane 30 ml
Vitamin E 2 g
Jojoba wax 15 g
Betaine 30 g
Purified water 350 ml
Preservative system 2 g

Jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, grape seed oil, squalane and jojoba wax are combined and heated until the wax phase melts completely. In a separate vessel purified water is heated and betaine is dissolved. Once both phases reach similar temperature the oil phase is incorporated into the aqueous phase with continuous mixing to form an emulsion. During cooling geranium essential oil and vitamin E are added and mixed until evenly distributed. The preservative system is then introduced and pH is adjusted to a balanced range suitable for cosmetic emulsions. The result is an aromatic emulsion with floral herbal fragrance.
