Hyadisine Marine Exopolysaccharide Active for Professional Long-Lasting Hydration Systems
Hyadisine is an advanced marine biotechnology ingredient developed from Pseudoalteromonas Exopolysaccharides, naturally produced by marine microorganisms. Its composition includes Water (Aqua), Pseudoalteromonas Exopolysaccharides, Citric Acid and Sodium Salicylate, creating a highly compatible aqueous active designed for modern cosmetic formulations. Owing to its innovative marine origin and multifunctional performance, Hyadisine has become one of the preferred moisturizing ingredients used by premium cosmetic manufacturers, contract laboratories and professional skin care brands worldwide.
The largest global demand for Hyadisine comes from facial skin care products. Cosmetic manufacturers incorporate the ingredient into hydrating serums, facial creams, emulsions, toners, essences, lightweight gels, hydrogel masks, sheet masks, eye care products, post-procedure formulations and professional SPA treatments. Formulators value Hyadisine because it helps create elegant cosmetic textures while supporting prolonged hydration and a pleasant sensory experience without increasing the oil content of the formulation.
Marine exopolysaccharides create a lightweight hydrophilic network on the skin surface that helps maintain moisture balance and improves the overall feel of the finished product. This technology makes Hyadisine an excellent complement to hyaluronic acid, allowing manufacturers to design multi-level hydration systems suitable for premium cosmetic products. The ingredient contributes to smooth application, refined texture and excellent compatibility with a wide variety of cosmetic actives.
Hyadisine works exceptionally well with Sodium Hyaluronate, hyaluronic acid of different molecular weights, betaine, ectoin, trehalose, niacinamide, D-Panthenol, peptides, amino acids, hydrolyzed proteins, ceramides, allantoin, bisabolol, botanical extracts, water-soluble vitamins and antioxidant complexes. Its formulation flexibility allows cosmetic chemists to develop both minimalist formulations and sophisticated multifunctional products with excellent processing characteristics.
Premium anti-aging skin care is another major application area. Hyadisine is incorporated into concentrated serums, day creams, night creams, facial emulsions, moisturizing masks and intensive cosmetic treatments where advanced hydration and elegant product aesthetics are essential. The ingredient performs equally well in transparent gel systems, lightweight emulsions and richer cream formulations, providing formulators with broad development possibilities.
Sensitive skin cosmetics also represent an important commercial sector for Hyadisine. Manufacturers combine it with Centella asiatica extract, beta-glucan, ceramides, allantoin, panthenol and naturally derived polysaccharides to create modern formulations with balanced hydration, smooth application and excellent formulation stability.
Although primarily recognized as a skin care active, Hyadisine is also used in selected professional hair care products. Moisturizing scalp serums, leave-in conditioners, hair masks, lightweight sprays and scalp treatments benefit from its compatibility with hydrolyzed keratin, amino acids, conditioning polymers, panthenol and other water-soluble conditioning ingredients commonly used in premium hair care formulations.
The SPA industry extensively utilizes Hyadisine in hydrogel masks, cosmetic concentrates, ampoule treatments, refreshing gels and intensive hydration programs. Since the ingredient is supplied in an aqueous solution, it is easily incorporated into modern cosmetic systems without requiring complicated manufacturing procedures.
During cosmetic manufacturing, Hyadisine is typically added during the final processing stage at temperatures below 40 °C. The ingredient is compatible with carbomer, xanthan gum, hydroxyethylcellulose, acrylate thickeners and most contemporary emulsion technologies. Maintaining the recommended formulation pH helps maximize product stability and supports consistent performance throughout the product shelf life.
Its marine biotechnology origin, excellent compatibility with modern cosmetic ingredients and versatility across numerous formulation types have established Hyadisine as one of the most promising moisturizing actives for premium skin care, SPA products, advanced hydration systems and innovative cosmetic development.
Example formulation for a moisturizing emulsion serum
Distilled Water - 74 g
Hyadisine - 5 g
Niacinamide - 4 g
Betaine - 4 g
D-Panthenol - 2 g
Glycerin - 5 g
Sodium Hyaluronate - 0.3 g
Preservative - 0.8 g
Citric Acid Solution - adjust to pH 5.2-5.5
Dissolve Glycerin, Betaine, Niacinamide and D-Panthenol in distilled water while stirring. Add Hyadisine and continue mixing until homogeneous. Incorporate Sodium Hyaluronate followed by the preservative. Adjust the final pH using a Citric Acid solution and mix until a clear, stable emulsion serum is obtained.
