Heather hydrosol in a 1 liter volume is obtained through steam distillation of flowering heather tops, collected as a co-product alongside the essential oil. Unlike concentrated essential oils, this floral water acts gently and can be applied directly to skin without mandatory dilution. This larger volume is chosen mainly by cosmetic studios, small-batch production lines and workshops that need a steady supply of raw material for regular runs of toners, emulsions and mists. The product belongs to the hydrosols and floral waters category, which brings together plant waters with different toning and soothing profiles.

The main field of use for heather water is facial and body skincare — toners, micellar formulas, aftershave gels, refreshing hair and scalp mists. Heather has long been valued for calming irritated skin, gently tightening the look of pores and leaving a fresh sensation, so it is commonly introduced into formulas for oily and combination skin as well as men's grooming products such as aftershave balms, deodorants and body sprays. In the personal care and fragrance industry the hydrosol serves as a base for light aromatic blends and as a replacement for part of the water phase in creams and lotions, enriching the formula with a botanical complex without introducing alcohols. Another notable application is the production of natural deodorants, where the mild toning action of heather pairs well with astringent ingredients.

In food and household chemistry the product is used less frequently, but it does appear in water-based air fresheners and textile fragrance formulas, where its soft herbaceous note without sharp overtones is appreciated. The hydrosol blends well with other floral waters — combining it with Melissa hydrosol gives a more pronounced refreshing effect for summer mist formulas, while adding Calendula hydrosol softens the composition and makes it suitable for sensitive skin. For small trial batches it is more practical to choose the compact Heather hydrosol 50 ml, while the 1 liter size is intended for regular production and allows a stable volume of raw material to be planned into the formula without frequent reordering.

The hydrosol should be introduced at the water phase stage, at a temperature not exceeding 40 degrees, to preserve its volatile components and aromatic profile. Typical dosage in finished cosmetic products ranges from 30 to 90 percent of the total water phase, depending on the product type. The hydrosol is compatible with most emulsifiers, gelling agents and preservatives used in cold and semi-hot emulsification methods. Store the product in a tightly closed container, in a dark, cool place away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and use the opened bottle within the shelf life indicated by the manufacturer, avoiding contamination with foreign liquids.
