ErcaLan 75 PEG 75 Lanolin water soluble lanolin derivative for conditioning and mild cleansing systems
ErcaLan 75 is a highly ethoxylated lanolin derivative with INCI PEG 75 Lanolin presented in flake form. It is designed for formulations where the functional properties of lanolin are required in fully water compatible systems. The material is widely used in cosmetic formulations especially in cleansing products where balanced conditioning and mild sensory performance are important.
What it is and where it is used
ErcaLan 75 is applied as a multifunctional ingredient in shampoos shower gels facial cleansers liquid soaps and emulsions. It is particularly suitable for systems with high water content where traditional lanolin cannot be used due to its hydrophobic nature.
The ingredient is востребован in both skin care and hair care formulations as well as in mild cleansing bases.
How it works
PEG 75 Lanolin combines the characteristics of natural lanolin with water dispersible polymeric behavior. It distributes uniformly in aqueous systems and forms a light conditioning layer that improves after feel.
It functions as both an emollient and a solubilizing agent helping to incorporate oils and fragrance components into water based formulations.
Properties
Provides conditioning effect in aqueous systems
Improves sensory profile and after feel
Enhances formulation stability
Acts as a solubilizer for oils and fragrance materials
Compatible with surfactant systems
Contributes smoothness to skin and hair
Applications across industries
In cosmetics it is used in shampoos shower gels facial cleansers and emulsions
In hair care it is used to improve softness and manageability
In liquid soap production it is used to reduce harshness of surfactants
In mild cleansing systems it improves comfort and application
Behavior in formulation
ErcaLan 75 is water soluble and easily incorporated into formulations. It can be added to the aqueous phase or to finished bases.
It is compatible with anionic nonionic and amphoteric surfactants and supports uniform distribution of ingredients.
How to use
The ingredient is introduced into the water phase with mixing or added directly to the base. Mild heating can be applied to accelerate dissolution if needed.
It is suitable for both cold and warm processing.
Recommended usage level
Typical usage ranges from 1 percent to 5 percent
In cleansing systems 2 to 4 percent is commonly used
Formulation example
Mild conditioning shampoo system
Purified Water — 600 ml
Sodium Laureth Sulfate — 150 ml
Cocamidopropyl Betaine — 80 ml
ErcaLan 75 PEG 75 Lanolin — 30 g
Glycerin — 20 ml
Polyquaternium-7 — 10 ml
Citric Acid — 2 g
Phenoxyethanol Ethylhexylglycerin — 5 ml
Fragrance Oil Green Tea — 2 ml
Processing
ErcaLan 75 is dissolved in the water phase under mixing. Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Cocamidopropyl Betaine are then added with continuous mixing until uniform.
Glycerin and Polyquaternium-7 are incorporated followed by pH adjustment using Citric Acid. At the final stage Phenoxyethanol Ethylhexylglycerin and Fragrance Oil Green Tea are added. The system is mixed until fully homogeneous.
Important considerations
ErcaLan 75 is a functional conditioning component designed for water based systems.
Performance depends on dosage and overall formulation balance. Proper use allows development of milder cleansing products with improved sensory characteristics without increasing formulation weight or greasiness.
