Effective U-T UV Filter: Broad Spectrum Protection for Radiant Skin
Effective U-T UV Filter is a high-performance, broad-spectrum organic UV filter meticulously designed for incorporation into a wide array of cosmetic sunscreen and daily skincare formulations. This advanced ingredient provides robust protection against both UVA (aging rays) and UVB (burning rays), contributing significantly to the prevention of sunburn, premature skin aging, and long-term skin damage caused by solar radiation. Its excellent photostability and compatibility with various cosmetic ingredients make it an indispensable component for creating effective and elegant sun protection products.
Versatile Applications in Cosmetic Formulations:
Effective U-T UV Filter is a key ingredient for developing comprehensive sun protection and preventative skincare products:
- Sunscreen Formulations: It is highly effective in sunscreens across various formats, including lotions, creams, gels, sprays, and sticks, providing reliable broad-spectrum protection to help prevent sunburn and reduce the risk of skin cancer and premature skin aging.
- Daily Wear SPF Products: This UV filter is ideal for incorporation into daily moisturizers, face creams, and serums with SPF, offering convenient sun protection as part of a regular skincare routine. Its compatibility with cosmetic esters and emollients allows for the creation of elegant, non-greasy textures suitable for everyday use.
- Tinted Moisturizers and BB/CC Creams with SPF: Effective U-T UV Filter can be seamlessly integrated into tinted moisturizers, BB creams (Blemish Balms), and CC creams (Color Correcting creams) to provide sun protection alongside coverage and skin-perfecting benefits.
- Lip Balms and Treatments with SPF: Protecting the delicate skin of the lips from sun damage is crucial. This UV filter can be used in lip balms, lipsticks, and lip treatments with SPF to shield against UVA and UVB radiation, helping to prevent chapping and sun-induced aging.
- Eye Area Sunscreens: Formulations specifically designed for the sensitive skin around the eyes can benefit from the inclusion of Effective U-T UV Filter, providing necessary sun protection in this delicate area.
- Scalp and Hair Sunscreens: Sprays and lotions designed to protect the scalp and hair from UV damage can effectively utilize this filter to minimize sun-induced dryness, color fading, and damage to the hair structure.
- After-Sun Care Products with Preventative Properties: While primarily a sunscreen filter, its protective qualities can be beneficial in after-sun lotions and treatments to further shield skin that may have been exposed to UV radiation.

Instructions:
- Combine the ingredients of Phase A in a heat-resistant beaker and heat to 70-75°C (158-167°F) while stirring until the xanthan gum is fully hydrated.
- In a separate heat-resistant beaker, combine the ingredients of Phase B and heat to 70-75°C (158-167°F) while stirring until the UV filter is completely dissolved.
- In a third heat-resistant beaker, combine the ingredients of Phase C and heat to 70-75°C (158-167°F) until the waxes are melted.
- Slowly pour Phase B into Phase C while stirring continuously with a homogenizer or high-shear mixer.
- Slowly pour the combined Phase B/C into Phase A while continuing to homogenize until a smooth emulsion forms.
- Allow the emulsion to cool to below 40°C (104°F) while stirring gently.
- Once cooled, add the ingredients of Phase D (preservative and Vitamin E) and mix well.
- Adjust the pH to 5.5-6.5 using a 10% solution of Sodium Hydroxide (Phase E), checking with a pH meter. Add dropwise while mixing until the desired pH is reached.
- Transfer the finished sunscreen lotion into a clean, opaque container.
Application Recommendations:
Apply liberally to all exposed skin 15-20 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply at least every two hours, or immediately after swimming, sweating, or towel drying. Use a water-resistant sunscreen if swimming or sweating. For children under six months of age, consult a doctor. Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a Broad Spectrum SPF of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.; wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses.
