Keeping Collagen Intact: The Role of Matrix-Stabilizing Actives
As skin ages and faces constant exposure to ultraviolet light, pollution and oxidative stress, enzymes gradually break down collagen and elastin fibers that form the extracellular matrix of the dermis. ECM-Protect 100 g is designed to slow this process by stabilizing structural proteins and limiting the activity of matrix-degrading enzymes. The product belongs to the Skin Protection and Restoration category, which brings together actives for anti-aging formulations, barrier repair and post-procedure recovery products.
The main demand for ECM-Protect comes from manufacturers of anti-aging serums, face and neck creams, and recovery products used after peels, laser treatments and microneedling sessions. Beyond mainstream skincare and color cosmetics, the ingredient is widely used in professional lines developed for aesthetic clinics and dermatology-oriented brands, where consistent, measurable results across a treatment course matter most. It is recommended to add ECM-Protect during the final stage of emulsification, at a temperature not exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, to preserve the integrity of its active molecules. A typical working concentration ranges from 1 to 3 percent of the total formula weight, depending on the desired intensity of the final product.
The 100 gram package suits small labs, cosmetic studios and formulators who need to run pilot batches and test new recipes before committing to larger production runs. This quantity is usually enough for several dozen trial batches of serums or creams, giving developers room to refine a formula without overordering raw material.
ECM-Protect pairs well with other protective and restorative actives. Combined with Chitin Beta-Glucan 10 g, it supports skin regeneration and immune-related recovery functions, which is particularly valuable in post-treatment care. Adding Naringenin Chalcone 1 g brings extra antioxidant and calming properties, reducing skin reactivity to external stressors. For richer, more nourishing textures, the emollient Lanol P 100 g helps distribute active ingredients evenly through the lipid phase and improves sensory feel on skin.
Store ECM-Protect in a dry, dark place at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and humidity fluctuations, keeping the container tightly closed between uses. Proper storage conditions help maintain the activity of the complex throughout its stated shelf life.

the water phase with glycerin to 40 degrees Celsius, and separately melt the
oil phase with Lanol P and the emulsifying wax at the same temperature, then
combine and homogenize until a smooth emulsion forms. Cool the mixture to 38
degrees, add ECM-Protect, Chitin Beta-Glucan, Naringenin Chalcone and the
preservative, stirring gently until fully dissolved. Transfer the finished
serum into sterile containers and let it stabilize at room temperature for 24
hours before use.
