Product Description

Eclipsogen EHT lipophilic UV stabilizing ingredient for sunscreen and emulsion systems

Eclipsogen EHT is a lipophilic photostabilizing ingredient based on Ethylhexyl Triazone. The material appears as a clear to slightly yellowish oily liquid or viscous concentrate depending on supply format. It is fully soluble in oils and incorporated into the oil phase of cosmetic formulations while remaining insoluble in water. The ingredient demonstrates high photostability and compatibility with emulsifiers, emollients and other lipophilic UV filters. Its stability under thermal processing makes it suitable for industrial manufacturing of sunscreen emulsions and cosmetic systems containing UV filters.

Properties and skin performance

In cosmetic formulations it forms clear or slightly opalescent emulsion systems without affecting base viscosity. The lipophilic nature allows uniform distribution within the oil phase while maintaining smooth texture. Finished formulations provide balanced sensory properties without heavy residue when combined with appropriate emollients.

Industry applications

Eclipsogen EHT is used in sunscreen creams, lotions, fluid emulsions and decorative cosmetic products containing UV filters. Suitable for functional cosmetic lines, professional skincare products and advanced sunscreen formulation development. Compatible with private label and contract manufacturing thanks to stable oil phase integration and reproducible performance during serial production.

Formula example

Eclipsogen EHT 35 g
Jojoba oil 50 ml
Squalane 40 ml
Caprylic triglycerides 50 ml
Cetearyl alcohol 20 g
Purified water 750 ml
Glycerin 50 g
Preservative system 2 g

Cetearyl alcohol is blended with the oils and caprylic triglycerides and heated until a homogeneous oil phase forms. Eclipsogen EHT is then incorporated and mixed until fully dissolved in the lipid phase. In a separate vessel the aqueous phase is prepared by mixing purified water and glycerin. Both phases are combined under intensive mixing to form an emulsion. After cooling the preservative system is added and mixing continues until the formulation becomes uniform. The pH is adjusted to a balanced range suitable for emulsion stability. The final product is a lightweight sunscreen cream with uniform texture.

Eclipsogen EHT is designed for B2B cosmetic manufacturers developing sunscreen and emulsion systems. It ensures formulation stability, compatibility with industrial processing and reproducible performance in scalable production environments.

Application ECLIPSOGEN® EHT is introduced into the fat phase of cosmetic products and is used in a wide range of forms: sunscreens and emulsions (including waterproof SPF 30–50+); decorative cosmetics with sunscreen function (BB creams, foundations, lipsticks); anti-aging products (in combination with antioxidants and vitamins); body and face care products (lotions, fluids); specialized products for skin protection after cosmetic procedures. It is recommended to combine with other filters (Tinosorb, Octocrylene, Avobenzone) to expand the spectrum of protection and improve the stability of the formula.

Properties UVB selectivity: Absorption peak ~ 314 nm, providing effective protection in the range of 290–320 nm. Photostability: Not destroyed by light, does not lose effectiveness with prolonged exposure to the sun. Lipophilicity: Compatible with the oil phase, does not disrupt the structure of emulsions. Heat resistance: Resistant to temperature during emulsification. Compatibility with other filters: Forms stable and effective filter complexes. Cost-effectiveness: High protection factor allows use in smaller doses compared to other filters. Safety: Approved for use in the EU, USA, Japan and other countries.
Purpose ECLIPSOGEN® EHT is a powerful and highly effective chemical UVB filter designed for the creation of sunscreen cosmetics and products with a high level of SPF protection. It protects the skin from the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays of type B, preventing photoaging, pigmentation, sunburn and inflammation. It is used as a key ingredient in sunscreen formulas due to its high absorption capacity even at low dosages.
Solubility fat-soluble, requires solvents (polar emollients, other UV filters) for complete dissolution in the formula
