A functional booster that strengthens sun protection formulas
The 10 g pack of COVASCREEN WTI 10 g is designed for laboratory trials, small test batches and home formulation work before scaling a recipe up to larger production. This ingredient belongs to the Sun protection components category and its main role is to reinforce the overall photoprotective performance of a formula without simply raising the concentration of primary UV filters.
Globally, the strongest demand for boosters of this type comes from the sun care industry: daily protective creams, water-resistant beach lotions, after-sun sprays, and even tinted bases or pressed powders that carry a declared protection factor. The ingredient forms a thin, even film on the skin surface that improves resistance to water and perspiration, a property especially valued in sports formulas and children's sun products. Beyond decorative and skin care cosmetics, similar photoprotective boosters occasionally appear in hair sun-defense sprays and in certain household chemistry products where a durable protective film is required on exposed surfaces.
COVASCREEN WTI works well within classic oil-in-water and water-in-oil emulsion systems and is compatible with silicone-based and polymeric thickeners. A typical dosage falls between 2 and 8 percent of the finished product weight, depending on the target protection level and the rest of the formula. It should be introduced during the phase-mixing stage at a temperature not exceeding 40-45 degrees Celsius to preserve the stability of sensitive compounds, followed by thorough homogenization until the mixture reaches a uniform consistency.
In more complex formulas this booster pairs naturally with lightweight oils and botanical extracts that offset any drying tendency of film-forming agents. For instance, Water-Soluble Almond Oil softens the final texture and improves spreadability across the skin, while Aloe Vera Essential Oil is a common choice for summer and after-sun formulas thanks to its soothing character. For deeper support of sun-stressed skin, formulators frequently add Madagascar Immortelle Essential Oil BIO, valued for encouraging the skin's natural recovery processes.
Store the raw material in a tightly sealed container, in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Under proper storage conditions its properties remain stable throughout the declared shelf life. The compact 10 g size is particularly convenient for home experiments and pilot batches, allowing formulators to check how the booster behaves alongside other ingredients before committing to a larger production run.
Trial sun fluid for texture testing
Distilled water 58 ml
Water-Soluble Almond Oil 9 ml
Plant-based emulsifier 6 g
COVASCREEN WTI 4 g
Aloe Vera Essential Oil 3 drops
Madagascar Immortelle Essential Oil BIO 2 drops
Broad-spectrum preservative 1 ml
Dissolve
the emulsifier into warm water at around 40 degrees Celsius, then separately
blend the Water-Soluble Almond Oil with COVASCREEN WTI until smooth. Combine
both phases and mix until the texture becomes light and uniform, allow the
batch to cool to room temperature, then add the Aloe Vera and Immortelle
essential oils together with the preservative. Transfer the finished fluid into
a clean container and let it stabilize for twenty four hours before testing it
on skin.
