Covabsorb EW is a water dispersible blend of organic UV filters stabilized with nonionic solubilizers. The composition includes Ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, Butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane and Ethylhexyl salicylate combined with PPG 26 Buteth 26 and PEG 40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil. The ingredient appears as a transparent to slightly opalescent viscous liquid with light yellow color. The solubilizing system allows lipophilic filters to disperse in aqueous media and create clear or semi transparent systems. Designed for water gels, serums and sprays without the need for traditional oil emulsions.

Hydroxyethylcellulose is dispersed in purified water until a uniform gel base forms. Glycerin and propylene glycol are incorporated and mixed thoroughly. Covabsorb EW is added into the aqueous phase with continuous mixing until the UV filter complex is evenly distributed. Chamomile extract is then introduced. Sodium citrate is added to adjust the pH of the system. The final product is a transparent aqueous gel with evenly dispersed UV filters.
