Origin and characteristics
Cosmoperine is an advanced cosmetic active derived from black pepper fruits (Piper nigrum). Its main bioactive compound, piperine, is renowned for its ability to enhance penetration of other ingredients through the skin barrier. For this reason, Cosmoperine is often described as a bioavailability enhancer or delivery booster, allowing actives such as vitamin C, retinoids, peptides, and botanical extracts to act deeper and more effectively.
Cosmoperine is available in powder or liquid form depending on production requirements. It is neutral in odor, disperses easily in aqueous systems, remains stable across a wide pH range, and is compatible with oils, surfactants, emulsifiers, vitamins, and plant-derived actives. At recommended concentrations, Cosmoperine is safe, gentle, and suitable for professional as well as home-use formulations.
