Orange Blend, 1 L for production lines
The 1 L size of Orange Blend is for brands whose citrus scent is already approved and used across regular products. The blend combines bitter orange, sweet orange, petitgrain, tangerine and bergamot oils, and the product card names Latvia as the country of production. A ready accord gives the same balanced result every time, and the large container keeps you on one lot for longer.
Estimating usage
At 1 % in rinse-off products, a litre covers about 100 kg of shower gel or shampoo. Scrubs use similar levels, while leave-on products need less. Citrus scents are seasonal, with scrubs and gels peaking in summer and candles in winter, so these figures help you stock up in good time.
Protecting a large citrus container
Oxygen is the main enemy of citrus oils. Each time the litre bottle is opened, more air gets in, and over months the scent can turn flat or harsh. A simple fix is to split the contents into several small amber bottles as soon as the container is opened, filling each one to the neck, and to open them one at a time.
Production uses
Shower gels and shampoos
Premix the blend with a solubiliser or part of the surfactant and add it at the end of the process. Surfactant bases are in wholesale surfactants.
Scrubs
In large batches, mix the blend into the oil portion first, then combine with sugar or salt for even distribution.
Candles
Add the blend at the temperature recommended by your wax supplier.
Leave-on limits
Because bergamot and bitter orange contain furocoumarins, leave-on use is restricted.
Allergens and labelling
Citrus oils are rich in limonene, and bergamot and petitgrain add linalool and linalyl acetate. Oxidised limonene is regarded as a stronger sensitiser than fresh limonene, which is one more reason to protect a large container from air.
One blend, several products
The blend makes a convenient base for a whole family of scents. Add vanilla and cinnamon for a winter collection, mint or lemongrass for summer, cedarwood and vetiver for a men's shower gel. One raw material purchase then supports several products, and stock control stays simple.
Card details
Composition: bitter orange, sweet orange, petitgrain, tangerine and bergamot. Country of production Latvia. Pack size 1 L.
Production example: hand wash, 20 kg
Into 15 kg of liquid hand wash base stir 4.3 kg of water, 400 g of glycerin and 100 g of preservative. Separately mix 100 g of polysorbate 20 with 150 ml of Orange Blend, add this to the batch, stir at low speed and adjust viscosity with salt. For trial runs ahead of a batch like this, use the 100 ml bottle. Other citrus oils are listed under wholesale essential oils, and carrier oils for scrubs under wholesale liquid oils.
Incoming quality check
When a new container arrives, draw a small retention sample, label it with the lot number and keep it in the fridge. The fresh citrus scent becomes your reference, and if a product ever starts to smell different, a quick comparison tells you whether the raw material is the cause.
Storage
Keep the container closed in a cool, dark room and decant it into smaller bottles straight after opening.
Batch records
Write the opening date on the container and keep a small reference sample of each batch to compare scent over time.
