Fatty Acid Complex Built for Bulk Cosmetic Manufacturing
Vitamin F is a concentrate of polyunsaturated fatty acids, primarily linoleic and linolenic acid, compounds the body cannot synthesize on its own and must obtain from external sources. This ingredient falls under the Vitamins
section, which brings together active additives used to enrich skincare and dermatological formulations. The 1 liter package size is aimed at manufacturers running production at industrial scale — contract labs, cosmetic factories, and facilities producing creams, lotions and emulsions that need a stable, uninterrupted batch of raw material without frequent small reorders.
The primary use of vitamin F lies in the production of facial and body care products, formulas designed for dry, dehydrated and irritation-prone skin, as well as anti-aging lines. The ingredient is widely used in barrier creams, repair balms, after-sun and after-shave products, and formulations for atopic-prone skin. Beyond cosmetics, polyunsaturated fatty acids also appear in animal feed additive manufacturing and certain food concentrate production, which broadens the industrial relevance of this raw material well beyond a single sector.
In formulations, vitamin F is introduced during the oil phase, at temperatures not exceeding 40-45 degrees, to prevent oxidative breakdown of the fatty acids. Recommended dosage typically ranges from 1 to 5 percent of the total emulsion mass, depending on the intended product function. The ingredient pairs well with other active components in the range: in complex antioxidant formulas it is often combined with oil-soluble vitamin A, which enhances the regenerating effect of the finished product, while for water phases or lightweight serums a more technologically flexible option is used — water-soluble vitamin F. In addition, for formulas aimed at strengthening the skin's protective barrier, vitamin F is frequently paired with vitamin H, allowing manufacturers to create multifunctional products for sensitive and problem-prone skin.
For large-volume purchases, storage conditions matter significantly: containers should be kept tightly closed, in a dark, cool space, away from direct sunlight and heat sources, since fatty acids are prone to oxidation. Once the liter container is opened, it is advisable to use the contents relatively quickly or transfer them into smaller containers with minimal air space to reduce oxygen exposure. This is particularly important for production lines, since oxidized raw material loses activity and can shorten the shelf life of the finished goods.
Vitamin F is in demand not only among laboratories of major cosmetic brands but also in facilities producing private-label lines and smaller operations scaling up toward serial batches. Thanks to its versatility, the ingredient works well in emulsions, creams, body oils, lip balms, and even certain categories of household chemical products where an emollient effect is required.
Barrier repair body lotion for industrial batching
Distilled water 620 ml
Emulsifier 60 ml
Base vegetable oil 140 ml
Vitamin F 30 ml
Vitamin A oil soluble 6 ml
Preservative 8 ml
Fragrance oil 4 ml
Heat the oil phase with the emulsifier to 70 degrees, and separately heat the water to the same temperature. Slowly pour the water into the oil phase while stirring continuously until a uniform emulsion forms. Cool the mixture to around 40 degrees, then add vitamin F, vitamin A, preservative and fragrance oil, mix thoroughly until smooth, and pour into prepared containers.
