Freeze-dried apple concentrate for antioxidant skincare and functional formulas
Apple extract powder is a concentrated ingredient produced from ripe fruit through gentle drying that preserves natural fruit acids, pectins and flavonoids in a stable, easy-to-dose form. Formulators value this format for its long shelf stability and the precision it brings to a wide range of recipes, from cosmetic emulsions to food and pharmaceutical blends. This item belongs to the category Powdered Extracts and Algae, which brings together concentrated botanical and algae-based raw materials for professional formulation work.
Worldwide, the leading application of apple extract is in facial and body skincare, where it is prized for gently refreshing skin texture through natural fruit acids while softening the surface thanks to pectin compounds. It is commonly found in toners, serums, creams for tired or mature skin, and brightening masks. Beyond cosmetics, the powder is used in the food industry as a natural flavoring and enrichment ingredient for beverages, desserts and functional foods, and in pharmaceutical production of dietary supplements due to its polyphenol and vitamin content.
The 10 g pack size is intended for home-based cosmetic making, small trial batches and laboratory testing, allowing formulators to evaluate the concentrate on a small scale before scaling up a recipe. The extract is introduced into the water phase once the formulation has cooled to around 40-45 degrees Celsius, protecting heat-sensitive compounds from degradation. Typical usage levels range from 0.5 to 2 percent of the total formula weight, depending on the desired concentration of active compounds and the intended purpose of the product.
Apple extract combines well with other botanical concentrates, making it possible to build multi-component complexes with a targeted effect. It is often paired with Barley Extract Powder to boost the nourishing and restorative properties of a formula, or with Cinquefoil Extract Powder 10% for compositions with a pronounced toning and firming effect. For calming formulas aimed at sensitive or irritated skin, Valerian Extract Powder makes a suitable companion ingredient.
The powder should be stored in an airtight container, in a dry and dark place at room temperature, away from moisture that could cause caking and loss of activity. Under proper storage conditions the extract retains its declared properties for the full shelf life stated by the manufacturer.
