Cosmetic Recipe: Delicate Prunus mume Facial Mist

Ingredient Quantity (by volume)
Distilled Water 85 ml
Witch Hazel Hydrosol (Alcohol-Free) 10 ml
Glycerin 3 ml
Prunus mume Essential Oil 2 ml
Polysorbate 20 (Solubilizer) 1 ml

Instructions:

  1. In a clean glass beaker, combine the distilled water and witch hazel hydrosol.
  2. In a separate small container, mix the Prunus mume Essential Oil with the Polysorbate 20. Stir gently until the essential oil is fully dissolved. Polysorbate 20 helps to disperse the oil evenly in the water-based mixture.
  3. Slowly add the essential oil-polysorbate 20 mixture to the water and witch hazel, stirring gently.
  4. Incorporate the glycerin and stir until all ingredients are well combined and the mist appears clear.
  5. Carefully pour the mixture into a clean spray bottle.

Application Recommendations:

  • Close your eyes and lightly mist the facial toner over your face and neck after cleansing and before applying serum or moisturizer.
  • Allow the mist to air dry or gently pat it into your skin.
  • Use throughout the day to refresh and hydrate the skin.
  • Store the facial mist in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight.
  • Perform a patch test on a small area of skin before widespread use to check for any potential sensitivity to the essential oil.
  • Adjust the amount of Prunus mume Essential Oil to your preference for fragrance intensity, starting with a lower concentration if you have sensitive skin.
