Instructions for Making the Serum:

  1. Sanitize: Thoroughly sanitize all your equipment, glassware, and the dropper bottle for your serum using isopropyl alcohol. Allow them to air dry completely.

  2. Combine Oil Phase (A): In a clean, dry glass beaker, combine Jojoba Oil, Rosehip Seed Oil, and Squalane. Gently stir to mix the oils.

  3. Prepare Actives (B): In a separate small glass dish, pre-dissolve Coenzyme Q10 in a tiny amount of Jojoba oil (if not already pre-dissolved).

  4. Add Actives to Oil Phase: Once Phase A is well mixed, add the pre-dissolved Coenzyme Q10, Vitamin E, Pogostemon Cablin Patchouli Essential Oil, Lavender Essential Oil, and Frankincense Essential Oil to the oil mixture.

  5. Gently Stir: Gently stir the entire mixture using a clean glass stir rod or spatula until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and the serum is uniform. Avoid vigorous shaking, as this can introduce air bubbles.

  6. Bottle and Store: Carefully pour the finished serum into your sanitized dropper bottle. Cap tightly.

Recommendations for Use:

  • Dosage: This recipe uses 0.3% Patchouli Essential Oil, which is at the higher end of the recommended cosmetic dosage for active effects. Adjust the percentage between 0.05% and 0.3% based on desired intensity and skin sensitivity. Always adhere to recommended dilution rates.

  • No Heat: This is a "no-heat" recipe. All ingredients are added at room temperature to preserve the integrity and efficacy of the delicate essential oils and heat-sensitive actives.

  • Solubility: Patchouli Essential Oil is oil-soluble and blends seamlessly into oil-based serums, balms, and anhydrous products.

  • Storage: Store the serum in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight and heat, to maintain its stability and effectiveness. The dark dropper bottle helps protect the oils from light degradation. For best results, use within 6-12 months.

  • Application: After cleansing and toning, apply 2-4 drops of the serum to your face, neck, and décolletage. Gently massage until absorbed. Use daily, morning and/or night.

  • Skin Suitability: This serum is suitable for most skin types, particularly beneficial for mature, combination, or acne-prone skin due to its balancing, rejuvenating, and anti-inflammatory properties.

  • Patch Test: Always perform a patch test on a small, inconspicuous area of skin (e.g., inner forearm) before full application, especially if you have sensitive skin or are new to essential oils.

  • Caution: Essential oils are potent. Do not apply undiluted to the skin. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Consult a healthcare professional if pregnant, nursing, or if you have any pre-existing medical conditions. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
