DIY Recipe: Sparkling Clean Bath Bombs
Create effervescent, fresh-scented bath bombs using the Baking Soda Fragrance Oil.
Ingredients
Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate), Citric Acid, Corn Starch, Carrier Oil (such as Sweet Almond Oil), Polysorbate 80 (to help disperse the oil), Baking Soda Fragrance Oil, Cosmetic Colorant (optional).
Instructions
First, in a large, dry bowl, thoroughly mix the dry ingredients: the Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, and Corn Starch, ensuring there are no lumps.
Second, in a separate, small container, mix the wet ingredients: the Carrier Oil, Polysorbate 80, and the precise amount of Baking Soda Fragrance Oil.
Third, slowly drizzle the wet mixture into the dry mixture while continuously stirring. The mixture should feel like slightly damp sand and be able to hold its shape when squeezed. Add the optional Cosmetic Colorant at this stage if desired.
Fourth, immediately press the mixture firmly into your chosen bath bomb molds. Pack the mixture tightly to prevent crumbling later.
Fifth, allow the bath bombs to cure and fully dry for at least twenty-four to forty-eight hours in a cool, dry place before unmolding and packaging.
Application Recommendations
For most formulations, we recommend a starting usage rate of zero point five percent to two percent (0.5% - 2.0%) of the total product weight. Always conduct a small test batch to check for scent strength, stability, and compatibility, particularly with high pH products like cold process soap. For candle making or reed diffusers, the optimal usage rate may be higher, typically between five percent to ten percent (5% - 10%). This concentrated oil is for external use and not for direct skin contact or ingestion. Always adhere to maximum usage rates specified by IFRA guidelines for your specific application.
