Instructions for Preparation:

1. Sanitize: Thoroughly sanitize all your equipment (heat-resistant beakers, stirring rods, lotion bottles) with isopropyl alcohol and let them air dry completely.
2. Prepare Phase A (Aqueous Phase): In a heat-resistant beaker, combine the distilled water and glycerin. Heat gently in a water bath to 70-75°C (158-167°F).
3. Prepare Phase B (Oil Phase): In a separate heat-resistant beaker, combine the emulsifying wax, sweet almond oil, shea butter, and cetyl alcohol. Heat gently in the same water bath to 70-75°C (158-167°F), ensuring all solid ingredients are fully melted.
4. Emulsify: Slowly pour the hot aqueous phase (Phase A) into the hot oil phase (Phase B) while continuously stirring with a hand blender or stick mixer on a low speed. Continue blending until a thick, uniform emulsion forms. The lotion will thicken as it cools.
5. Cool Down: Continue stirring occasionally as the lotion cools to below 40°C (104°F) to prevent a skin from forming and ensure a smooth texture.
6. Add Phase C (Cool Down Phase): Once the lotion has cooled below 40°C, add the Exquisite Fragrance Oil, preservative, and Vitamin E. Stir thoroughly until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
7. Check pH (Recommended): Test the pH of your finished lotion. For a body lotion, an ideal pH range is typically 5.0-6.0. Adjust if necessary by adding a tiny drop of diluted lactic acid to lower pH or diluted baking soda solution to raise pH.
8. Bottle: Carefully transfer the finished lotion into clean, sterile bottles or jars.
