1. In a heat-safe beaker, combine the distilled water and emulsifying wax. Heat in a double boiler or water bath until the wax is completely melted.
2. In a separate heat-safe beaker, combine the shea butter and jojoba oil. Heat until the butters are melted and the oils are clear.
3. Once both phases are heated to approximately 70-75°C (158-167°F), slowly pour the oil phase into the water phase while continuously stirring with a hand mixer or whisk.

5. Remove from heat and allow the emulsion to cool to around 40°C (104°F).
