Grape seed oil plant-based lipid raw material for cosmetic and industrial formulations
Grape seed oil is a plant-derived base oil widely used in formulation systems requiring a stable lipid phase. It is obtained from grape seeds and serves as a functional component in cosmetics, food oil blends, nutraceutical products, SPA applications and industrial production where a consistent oil base is required.
From a formulation perspective, the oil provides a source of fatty acids that contribute to the structure of lipid systems. It acts as a carrier for oil-soluble ingredients and influences flow, distribution and system behavior. Its compatibility with emulsions, oil blends and surfactant systems allows it to integrate without disrupting formulation stability.
In cosmetic applications, grape seed oil is used in creams, serums, masks, hair products and cleansing systems. In hair formulations, it supports distribution of components across the surface. In food and nutraceutical systems, it functions as part of the lipid base. In fragrance and candle production, it can be used to support even distribution of aromatic components.
Functionally, the oil acts as a structuring element within lipid phases. It supports stability, enhances distribution of ingredients and contributes to sensory properties. In multi-oil systems, it is often used to balance viscosity and flow characteristics.
In formulation practice, it is added to the oil phase during blending. It is compatible with emulsifiers, waxes, active ingredients and other oils. It remains stable under typical processing temperatures. It can serve as a primary base or as a component within a complex oil system.
Usage level is defined in technical specifications and adjusted by the formulator according to formulation goals.
Example formulation: Nourishing body milk based on plant oils
Purified water 55 ml
Grape seed oil 20 g
Shea butter 10 g
Jojoba oil 10 g
Olivem 1000 emulsifier 6 g
Cetyl alcohol 3 g
Glycerin 4 g
Preservative 1 g
Vitamin E 1 g
Process: prepare water and oil phases separately and heat to processing temperature. Combine phases and emulsify until uniform. During cooling, add glycerin, vitamin E and preservative. Mix until stable and fill.
Grape seed oil is applied in formulations where a stable and predictable oil phase is required, supporting uniform distribution and overall formulation balance.
